The problem with Plowman's errors is that they usually happen at the most inopportune time (e.g. we've had a run of play without punishing the opposition, they'll get it down their end, he'll turn it over often times trying to do too much) and subsequently almost always cost us a goal. They hurt.

A great Carlton footballer though and I'll take his errors as he still gives us far more than he gives up.
Good call, I guess he is under so much pressure, so often, his errors will always be amplified.

So just wondering we choose not to trade Harrison Macreadie and then delist him :/

May not have been any takers. Hasnt shown a lot and was a late-ish draft pick to begin with. Meaning clubs had already done research on him in 2016 and since then he's only strung 9 games together.

No, I was looking at total ruck contests attended. He has 19 over his career or an average of 1.3 a game. He is actually in the elite category for hit-outs to advantage at 40%.
Elite for - Hit-outs to advantage.

This was the statement I was responding to in a highly non-linear discussion.

Hi Everyone,

Not sure where to post this, as it happened here might as well post it here...
Realise probably no one will remember or even care, but it would make me happy to publicly apologise as I was in the wrong...

Sorry for my outburst last week, had a trade week obsession and loss of someone close to me.
Had a moment, that I took it out on Bic...

Just wanted to apologise to Bic & Aphrodite and anyone else I may of offended...

Hope you accept my apologises and Go Bluebaggers
All good mate, wishing you all the best.

Who said he was up for trade? And also if he was, maybe we were only offered a pick in the 70's which were not going to use anyway so it's the same effect.
Last year we picked up Newnes this way. If a club is interested but the general consensus on valuation is minimal why would the other club offer anything at all, why not just wait for us to delist him. We'll know shortly, if he ends up being picked up by Geelong we'll know the fix was in.

From what I can work out we currently have 40 players all up so we can add another 4 to our list which I suspect will be 3 from the draft plus a DFA. 👍

39 as of today.

36 Senior (incl Kennedy for now)
2 Category A Rookies (Honey, Cottrell)
1 Category B International Rookie (Owies)

Need a KPD, another KPP/ruck (Walshy's bro arguably) and whatever else....Narkle?

Can't imagine we'd take 3 kids in the draft....maybe a mature ager?

Small forward? Isaiah Butters (rookie) would be my pick if Samo says yeah.

Happy Kennedy and Owies kept on the list.

Right now our list is at 35/3/1 and we know that the list sizes are 38/4/2

We should take someone like Henry Walsh (or another ruck) + a key defender in the draft with picks 38 + 48 to make it 37 senior players. A key forward like McCarthy can be rookied (a total then of 5), and that leaves us with 1 senior and 1 rookie spot. Do we use them in the pre-season SSP?

Given Essendon were looking at Kennedy, do we need to worry about them taking him for their primary list before we can rookie him, or has he accepted that scenario and he's protected?

I remember Lachie Young being offered a rookie spot and would've had an option to opt out at that point and be a DFA, but ultimately the Dogs offered a senior spot and were able to get something as a result. I presume Kennedy accepted our offer given it was mentioned in the release.

Possible but unlikely that a club would pick him in the ND.
It's an unwritten rule that clubs won't pick a player in the Rookie Draft if they're committed to stay at their club.

So now we know list sizes and player payments for next year, would and could it be that hopefully Harry and Patrick sign their long awaited contracts.

Yes, I believe the TPP has shrunk by 9% from $14.5M to $13.1. But the players are taking a 3.5% haircut on their contracts.

Allir - Perfect for Port, given the lack of height they had down back.
They did the right thing, but there were some question marks around him from some Sydney people.
Anyway, he's straight into their best team. Smart recruiting.

Agree.

Their KPD‘s struggled in 1 v 1 versus Hawkins.

Allir should be strong and mobile enough to put up a better performance.

IMHO good move for both Allir and Port.

Dustin Fletcher anyone?

The bloke's 198cm. groan...
Hmm Mcreadie 9 games in 1 season of 4 years on the list. Fletcher 75 games in first 4 years, 17 games in his first season as a 17 yo, rising star nominee and premiership player.... Skinny arms yes.......

Trade him for what?

Bad luck for Polson.

Just not up to it.

Surprised we let Macreadie go as well... we are paper thin for KPD stocks now...

Moore being let go of was no surprise.

Philips unlucky to only have a short stint. Such is the nature of the landscape now.

Probably sure enough sign we'll use pick 38 + 48 at the draft now.

KPD and small forward or ruck/forward pls.
