It was 6 weeks of the season proper back when it was needed for rookie upgrades. Since they changed the rules so that rookies can play anytime, this is less relevant.

The list size cap still applies, so I think to add a player to your list, you need the LTI to be for the full season

Only QLD has placed restrictions on WA at this time. Though I’d expect others to follow suit.
TAS & WA trips are a little different, I wouldn’t expect players to be coming home (WA trip especially) during the middle of pre-season.

McDonald is genuinely 196cm, I'd assume from that image Jones' listed height is fudged.
