Would trade O'Brien before Macreadie unless confidence in his body is low.

O'Brien looks like a dime a dozen midfield type who lacks size and physicality. Macreadie was looking like being a pretty good key defender.

The big question is what we get in return. Has to be someone who is needed and walks into our best 22.

Tough call on both players really. Like many on our list it's a year before things are make or break for them. guys like Dow, LOB and Macreadie, if they are going to make it they will show us next season. Next season they either become busts or they break out. We trade now we either look like geniuses or fools so it's a big call.

HIGH PRICE OF TRELOAR MOVE
Collingwood will be forced to pay $300,000 for each of the next five seasons to move Adam Treloar to the Western Bulldogs, according to Trade Radio's Sam Edmund.
The Bulldogs are willing to pay Treloar $600,000 a season, leaving a significant shortfall and forcing the Magpies to pay a total of $1.5m over the remaining five years of Treloar's contract.

WOW. Just wow.

$300K A YEAR over five years is what I expected from a BF hypothetical, not from Collingwood.

If true, it's pretty clear that Treloar staying at Collingwood is not feasible.

I only hope this drops late enough that Dogs don't have time to trade out Dunkley to *...

LOB going nowhere - Teague fully invested in him.
Very happy with this.

The problem we have had at Carlton for many years is that we expect our young players to come in and make an impact straight away and if they don't then they are not worth persisting with. Players like LOB (+ even Dow & Stocker) are going to need some time to develop before they are ready to play AFL. Just look at Richmond, because they are so successful there draftees have 2-3 years to quietly develop in the VFL before they are rarely seen at AFL level, does anyone get concerned? Nope because they are not AFL ready.

We are getting to this stage where competition for spots is at a decade high and we don't need these players to play every week and show something straight away.

Looking at LOB, he's clearly not ready physically in terms of his body shape for AFL level. He needs to put on some size. Some players take longer to develop but someone with his running capacity and foot skills is worth persisting with. I wouldn't be writing him off yet.

Just remember Weitering, so many people were writing him off even though he was barely 21 because he wasn't showing anything at AFL level. Now look at him.

Let me get this straight.

With Gibbo upgraded to the senior list and with the inclusion of Zac, Adam and Fog we have 38 senior players.

If we delist Moore and Polson that gives us the space for two kids in the draft.

But if we trade Macreadie and LOB - two players who are far superior than Moore and Polson - are we then picking up four kids? Or just not delisting Moore and Polson? And if we’re keeping Moore and Polson how does that make any sense from list management perspective?

Please unconfuse me.

At 600k, I’d take him

I'd also say awareness is a major weakness of LOB's. He has a bad read of the player, and his ability to structure up around the ground leaves a lot to be desired. Running patterns not great either, and you'd think a guy who can run a sub 6-minute 2 k'd be able to find some easy ball, but it just doesn't happen with LOB.

Doesn't mean he can't find his niche, but he's a guy who needs to be fed the ball far more than others.

No use trading him for a trash pick however.

LOB should be watching tapes of Braddles and Dow should be looking at tapes of Judd in his West Coast years! These 2 have the potential, just need to work on the desire, want and mental aspects. I'm hoping we're re-assessing our coaching team and really looking at someone to work on mental aspects with our young ones to aid drive them.

Is he that quick?

Doesn't look anything special in the speed department when sighted during infrequent senior appearances.
Matter of opinion of course. I see a young Gary Crane.
Takes time though to get a frame to get through games for wiry lads. 2 more preseasons and he will be there. And thats the case with the majority of youngsters. At 21 they are just starting out.

Well speed is just naturally there. You don't train hard and develop top line speed.

I've never seen LOB in a game and thought he's a jet.

Big call comparing to Crane ... I’ve seen nothing to suggest anything near that level ... would love nothing more than to see massive improvement in him though ...
