Completely forgot that teams can continue to do pick swaps up to the draft, and then on the night obviously.

Makes more sense of why it would have been harder for us to trade down. Lions still may look to move up for instance, but they have no incentive to do the deal now.

Contracts run until after the trade period, so they are still "in-contract". The contract ends before the draft

I though that AFL contracts as a standard rule, ran to October 31st. There must have been an amendment this year to allow for extraordinary circumstances as all blokes would technically be OOC and not under any club control.

Even though Dogs wouldn't accept a single first rounder, you would think * would at least offer #6, given that it would give the Dogs more points to match the JUH bid, meanwhile it would not affect the Scum's picks in any way, they would still be able to pick the exact same 2 players.
