Pretty slick with the tick there. Let’s hope and work towards it.

For what it's worth, I believe in Santa Clause AND Matthew Kennedy.

Not enough love for Bam Bam.
I do too but he continually frustrates me with glimpses. Really needs to take a game by the scruff at least once.
Really needs to get fit and working on the frequency of his impact… that fat b****** only shows up once a year!

Not sure he really fits our needs, does he?

Just read up on him on Wikipedia. Might be worth a punt. He’ll have some quality players to leapfrog to come in as a HBF, but he played 6 games for the premiers in 2020, and is still young, so he can’t be far off the pace. Delisting might be the kick in the behind he needs to work that bit harder.

D E-Smith looked good in the games I saw of him. Thought they'd signposted him to take over from Houli? Bit of a surprising delisting. Possibly in that annoying pay bracket, where he'll need to be upgraded to 300k and he's just not worth it.

Worth a shot if we can grab him. Move Saad/Willo up to a wing - sorted for outside runners for a while.

Yup certainly worth a shot, if we can lure him over, continue adding speed and reasonable skills, DE Smith for zilch draft picks, would compliment nicely 2020 trade acquisitions.

Has some serious talent, just struggles to stay on the ground.
Marchbank has gotta be re-evaluated come end 2021, we just can’t carry so many non contributors.
Curnow too will have to be carefully managed and Charlie needs to put in some effort and show he can stay on the park continuously at least half a season.

We have added Saad and Williams, already have Doc, Plow, March, SPS, Willo and Newman with LEGITIMATE claims to best 22, who to date are defenders first to try to shoehorn in to the side. He is not a need.

My concern with that defensive group is that it is quite slow so susceptible to being opened up by quick ball movement and zippy forwards, particularly given Teague gameplan leaves us susceptible to the counterpunch.
Conversely, if we can get our pressure right through the other 2/3 of the ground - that grouping could have a field day chopping off rushed kicks inside 50.

Agree with this. Three talls plus Plow is too slow.

...although as a Richmond supporting friend of mine said about his de-listing - "We don't do 'terrified' at Tigerland"

Most defenses are susceptible to skill, footy IQ, and speed that’s how effective attacks, high scores are created.
Acquisitions of Williams and Saad was an intelligent crucial move it will create more effective defense and attacking rebound.
This will assist midfielders and our forwards enormously.

Yep, it’s very, very difficult to see where we’re going to lose a game

That is a huge array of player types (Doc, Plow and Marchbank play nothing like EMS), and SPS is primarily a midfielder who can pinch hit in defence.

You can point to Newman and Willo as pretty similar players, but we're not planning on playing Williams off half back and we've already indicated we want to use Saad further up the field. EMS is more a traditional back pocket, similar to Houli, with pinpoint kicking skills and composure around the ground. He'd start slightly behind Newman, but I'd back him to overtake him within a year or two. He's got more pace, and is a better kick.

Think he's definitely worth adding, but it sounds like quite a few clubs are keen, and fair enough.

Setterfield needs to take his strength and conditioning to the next level to elevate. His footy IQ and skills are great but with his frame and size he could be a Swans Josh Kennedy type if he really believed he could be elite. Maybe with Williams on a wing, he can focus more on his contested game which I feel is not necessarily a weakness, but possible area of growth.

Setters is tall, but I'm not sure he's big.

I see him as a Bont type rather than Josh Kennedy (based on body shape/game style).

But if he gets anywhere near either of those two in output, I don't care which one it is!!!
