No debt, lots of members, lots of talent....no success

Agree with the first two, not so sure about the third, we have talent yes, is that enough without desire? , until the balance is right we don't get to change the last part.

Amazing team defence is still great football and really interesting to watch for those that enjoy the technical and tactical battles involved in football.

Same with the NFL. My favourite games to watch are often low scoring hard hitting defensive masterclasses.

Same.

Something at stake at every contest. I find it griping.

It’s all about manufacturing and exploiting advantage while negating and mitigating your opponents efforts to do the same. Both elements require discipline.

So the review hasn’t barely begun and you already know the answer?

Im calling either that is bullshit, or the club’s review is another predefined token effort to keep the supporters, members and media at bay.

Again, as per my last response, if you ‘already know’ that answer, it’s bullshit or the review is a farce.
You can call it whatever you want mate. But that's what someone who works at the club said.

I have said in the past he isn't infallible. Some of it would of been his opinion, some knowledge given he's been through a few reviews before.

Things change and move quickly.

Sums Carlton Football 2021 perfectly. A whole generation of kids and grown up with Carlton being simply a pathetic participant award recipient.

Remind me again, who's awarding participation awards at AFL level?

Leave your gripes with wider society off my football forum.

The problem is clearly to do with effort and application.

Whether that comes down to:
- we've got too many selfish players on pay packets at their second club;
- we've got too many high draft picks who've never defended;
- we're a victim of the modern generation of kids who can' handle adversity; or
- we've got too many players who have grown up with Carlton being a failure and they therefore don't respect the jumper like they should,
i don't know which one it is or if it's a combination of all three.

But last night was shocking. Protected Walsh for about 2 bounces last night before giving up. Multiple players fumbling - fumbling is not a skill issue. It's an application and confidence issue. Players who have something going on in their head don't fumble the ball. No fight back - no application. It was a disgusting night all around and a true nadir for the Carlton football club.

I'd honestly cut half the list at this stage.

Just relax, it's bad but not all bad imo.

I thinks we're just off a little bit in all areas. Hence why we lose most games but don't get smashed.

Gameplan needs to be tweaked defensively and offensively.

Effort is off by 5-10%

Team selection has been off a bit.

Playing a few players out of position which stifles development.

Execution in front of goal and around the ground is off by 5-10%.

Injury list slightly larger than most teams.

All the above results in standard 4 goal losses. The list is pretty darn good. It's just everything around it in the footy department is slightly off.

Let's hope the review is thorough and not a typical carlton lack of proper process.

List overhauled essential, needs a decent clean out, salvage what we can and move on.

Getting desperate for the quick fix and trying to sign Ross Lyon without fixing all our other issues is SO Carlton.

Maybe it’ll work, but if it doesn’t we’ve been down this path so enough times to know the risks.

The more this goes on, the more I think we need a broom through all the same sorts who have been running the club the past 20 years. They’re out of ideas.
The issue is Lyon is a massive upgrade on Teague. Not sure if he is the best attainable but a way better preference....at least carlton would get defence...Lyon would steady the ship....might have the Ratten effect at Stkilda.....quick ascent and equally quick descent

What is it with people wanting to know how people feel.

Do people really need to hear words to understand where the club is at? And if so, everyone wants to hear different things, so the masses will never feel satisfied
You do not get it. This is a board totally detached from the gladatorial nature and emotion of the sport. They don't understand the blood and guts of winning.

That has nothing to do with my post.

And again, all these clickbait terminologies. Losing culture, soft underbelly, poorly ingrained, etc

I mean, these were the same clickbait terms people were using about the Demons last year, Tigers of 2016, Cats in 2006, Saints 2009, Port 2 odd years ago.

The reasons they are used, is because people can't articulate the real reasons or analysis factually

So they use "the vibe"

You sincerely believe that we have performed at anything that remotely resembles AFL level? Almost Fitzroy like.

Poster 1 'the sky is really blue'
Poster 2 'I don't give a shit about the colour of the sky, my carrots won't grow'
Poster 1 'why tf do you think the sky isn't blue'

Wot.
