If this is the case, the AFL are corrupt.
Corrupt might be a bit strong a word, but they are certainly ‘a law unto themselves’ and a dictatorship with little respect for the clubs that make them money. I really don’t know why the clubs put up with it, if they all banded together and gave Gil the middle finger, what choice does he have?

No, because you still want to assess Clarkson's mentality, how he's been performing over the last 2-3 years, and what the projections look like for his philosophy and ideas.

He cannot automatically re-create the environment he had at Hawthorn circa 2013-2015.

That's fine but no other club is putting him through a selection process. A chat where those questions might be asked, yes. A process where he has to compete in stages against other applicants, no.

Playing Evo 2 and one of the new recruits from the draft is some bloke with the last name "Liddle".
He probably won't get many games.

Soooooo, the AFL is backing Stewart Dew's sacking then?
If this is true, f^#^ the AFL...period!
If this is false, Dew should seek legal advice against MMM.
If this is a ploy by the media to thwart Carlton again they should be blacklisted by our club at least

This leads me to think (and it’s just me assuming that Tom Browne might be correct :p ) that the AFL don’t want Clarkson to go to Carlton and will do all they can to stop it.

Just a stab in the dark but it looks, feels and sounds like corruption...surely not in Australia...only the rest of the world are corrupt...surely

Or they just really want the Suns to be successful and don’t care if it negatively effects another club. They don’t hate Carlton, they’re looking after their baby.
Still sucks if it costs us.

Sheesh.. now everyone is corrupt. FMD.
Relax, take a Bex and have a nap. If Clarko wants to coach Carlton, he will.

Of course the AFL want him to Coach Gold Coast. If that's the case, why don't they make him an offer too good to refuse now, and have him up there next season?

Yeah, she's a handbrake stop start :)
Hill slopes down to the mall, and huge fountain.
Beautiful city Bendigo.
Ah and the Rifle Brigade opposite to quench the thirst. Memories

Can someone explain if Neale is going to Freo- why we wouldn’t trade pick 6 for 14 and 18 then just offer 14 to freo ? If they decline we can take him in the National draft. Richmond, Bombers , Pies have said they don’t want him. North wouldn’t use pick 2, Hawks unlikely at 5 and Saints at 9 have no cash. What is the risk besides Austin not looking like a nice guy (like last years trade period ).

Because Clarko wants a year off and Dew has a convenient year to run on his contract.

Agree we should do that. Freo lose leverage in both the Neale and Cerra deals as a result.

We have the opportunity do what St Kilda did in the Brad Hill deal or what Essendon did with Stringer. Low ball first offer, then if you don’t accept within a day or so we split the pick.

It's just $.

GC get him, that earns the AFL's insanely expensive gamble a break from the incessant criticism.

That is worth so much money to them.

Carlton get him, that is worth nothing to the AFL.

Carlton, the pies, *, the two from WA and the two from SA are the ox, the beast of burden that is carrying everything. Too big to fail so keep loading them up.
The AFL will never do anything for us or the others they depend on cause we will survive regardless.

Teague had a year to run on his contract as well. How did that work out for him?
In the end, if Clarko wants to coach Carlton next season, he will.
