The Age article mentioned handing over to an internal candidate at the end of his tenure - I wonder if the club has someone in mind now (who?), or if that will be decided later.

That could be connected to the Ameet Bains rumour from a few weeks ago - I don’t think he would come over until the final year of Cooks term (unless we create a senior position for him that isn’t seen as a demotion) - but he could well be the CEO of a premiership club next week so would come in well qualified and he probably still bleeds blue.

There’s probably several people who are responsible for the Bulldogs being well run but he’s one of them and would be a good long term hire for us.

Late to the party.
Fantastic news, best in a long time for our club I suspect. Can sense the mood lifted in here as well.

I hope this gives us a small glimmer of hope for Clarko but if not, I have full confidence in Cook's appointments from here. A great thing to have, a proven operator we're comfortable with at the helm making to come
The foundations have been poured actually it’s more like a grand heritage home that’s been restumped no more cracks just styling and finishing details

Loving how the club has kept their cards close to their chest.

Could be the start of a unified club. Perhaps Sayers and Cook (Greg Williams too) will finally get everyone on the same page.
I feel like its the start of something special regardless of who the coach is.

These guys command respect and are the no bull shit types we have been craving.
Not like MLG and Liddle.

I feel like we are finally on the right track.

Todays signings another bonus.

Does it include the coach?

Or am I asking too many questions?

Agree with Arr0w's last post.

Interesting timing.

I've always thought Cook opened that door ajar. If Clarko was to come Cook was going to be the catalyst.

I have no new info that hasn't been shared around already but just a hunch.

If not Clarko I trust the process and Cook.

Thanks for your info.

Truly appreciated; most of us are many degrees of separation away from the club and this sort of stuff stokes the flames. Love it!

Yes, exactly this. I like the feeling of involvement/inclusion, even though I am a million miles away from the action, and "clubland" might as well be on the moon as far as I am concerned. I get a lot of value out of the thoughts of people who are closer to the industry and the clubs; those people don't have to deal in Bluemours to be really interesting. This thread is a journey, and I love it - I don't worry about the destination any more.

Monday morning: Carlton Press Conference appointing Clarko
Monday evening: Clarko interview on 360
Tuesday afternoon: New Carlton Media show - Cook & Clarko Chess-off
Wednesday evening: Lyon on FC throws his hat in the ring for Carlton Media Editor-In-Chief after bumping into Paul Roos at Coles New World

Whately is an agenda driven parsimonious flog. He is a gentrified version of Robbo-just expresses anti-carlton sentiment in a gramatically correct format.

This might be you’re (your) best ever post on here.
