Well it sounds to me that it’s down to 2, Clarko is the priority and if we can’t get him then it’s Gia. Hopefully Cookie is able to pull it off and get Clarko, my only concern with Gia is that he doesn’t quite fit what Sayers wanted with an experienced coach. His only 39 and been in the coaching game for 6 years so his fairly new ... BUT if Cook is impressed and decides his the best man for the job if we can’t get Clarko then I trust his call.

Vince's Notice was defective. I've seen it (Vince posted it on FB) and agree.

He's an absolute muppet as he is still harping the same things from 2 months ago and has no plan or clue. Still hasn't prepped a ticket.

So effectively they can’t even file a valid notice ...but want to run the club....without any publicly announced plans....other than some Trump style make Carlton great again strategy...Hmmm

Things Gia does have:
- Has Coached his own side (Footscray VFL)
- Multiple roles experience - opposition analysis, forwards coaching at Bulldogs, backline at Essendon
- Multiple clubs experience
- Coaches association Assistant coach of the year

And according to my wife, he’s a good looking rooster and has good hair…

Heard from a reliable source that we can possibly get SOS back now that Liddle is out of the picture.

Source:

I just made it up, but I desperately want it to happen.

It would be a massive coup to get Clarkson into the club as the coach but I will not be holding my breath. Seems like 1 week he is in and next he is out.
He's hot then he's cold?
He's yes then he's no?
He's in then he's out?

He leaves us in doubt....
And yet
We wait, we hope.

The wheel started to turn when Harry and Patrick signed on .
Sayers taking over and announcing the review without waiting fir the end of year hit the road running which gave all blue people hope and put all on notice incl players .
Having a legend like Williams sign on and walk amongst the players is another positive.
Whilst we are very impatient as a club I love how the club has held their course and positive direction whilst being under enormous pressure especially from the media ,reminds me of rich with gale .
The club has snared Cook who wouldn’t have come if we were a rubble .
The next appointments whoever they are will want to be part of the emerging juggernaut they call Carlton .
Success breeds success
Cream always rises to the top no matter what .
Hopefully all can give the club breathing space now to do their job without the negative crap .

I don't buy into the succession plan theory. If Clarko comes and does his job properly Carlton are in a premiership window in 2 years. Why would he then want to walk away from that and give the glory to someone else? Roos at Melbourne was a different proposition. He didn't really want to be a senior coach again and went to Melbourne for the money / notoriety. I think Clarko would see himself as a career coach.

Also don't see how a director of coaching role would work. The Hawks owe Clarko 900k next year. If he comes to Carlton as senior coach we could better that to make it worth his while. I don't think we could do that if he is director of coaching though. Anything we pay him would likely just eat into his payout.

My view is Clarko either comes as senior coach or nothing. I'm leaning towards nothing but haven't completely given up hope.

I feel like on the surface there are a few boxes that Gia doesn't appear to tick. However, if he is appointed you could see that as a positive as he would have to have massively impressed the selection panel.
