Blues panic!

lmfao, it was the Melbourne club which leaked details about the trade first (without any input from Carlton) saying that the basis of the trade was #11 for Mclean, with finer details (ala sweeteners) to be determined pending fitness tests/meeting with the players etc. It's now the MELBOURNE team panicking when the Blues say a deal is close, but there are still some sticking points .....................
If there are sticking points, it could only suggest that Brock will have to say bye bye to the blues. But if you read the artical, the deal has been agreed upon, brock to the blues, dee's pick 11. Carlton just want a bit extra. I'd give them the big finger. Not our fault stevens retired and Fev went troppo.

Depends how high people rate Mclean. I actually think Carlton are getting a steal.

I would think Pick 11 + Fisher for Mclean. A midfielder in his peak like Mclean is a huge coup.

Ultimately the deal pick 11 for Mclean seems pretty fair. I'd say there are other stumbling blocks.

I think its fair to say that Brad Fisher would be of absolutely no interest to the Melbourne Football Club.

Happy to package a pick we are not using or a list clogger we don't want, like Bell,,,they did take another HBF list cloggr in CJ off us last year..but otherwise straight up Pick 11.

All in all the Icke quote is one of the stranger heard during Trade Week shenanigans.

I'm sure Carlton and Melbourne both agreed to releasee the deal to the media. Don't laugh at things you don't know:rolleyes:

From my understanding he said that the deal was as good as done and they wouldn't go back on it but that they are looking at more trading with Melbourne.

You can have Miller and Robbo for Warnock...

Reading way too much into this.

Put it this way. After this deal Melbourne have:

#1, #2, #11, #18, #34, #50, #66

Carlton have:

#27, #43, #59, #75

We are probably trying to wangle #34 out of them if we can get it (probably as a swap for #43) but would definitely be looking to bump #59 and #75 up to #50 and #66 at a minimum since Melbourne will not be using these picks more than likely.

So Dees would use 1, 2, 11, 18, 43 at a pinch and save a pick for the PSD
Carlton would use #27, #34, #50, #59, #66

Maybe we are looking to give up #27, #34 and a fringe player to get Everitt?

This thread is where the panic is coming from IMO.

Don't think it's panic.

Seems closer to incompetence.
Not sure they have thought trade week through. They should have held off - stevens gone and you can't blame him. who'd want to risk further injury for the CFC. They tossed pick 11, won't get much more than pick 14 for Fev. WCE fans are probably loving it. They'd be better of just keeping the bloke and telling Judd to harden the **** up.

Does Judd run the Carlton football club?

Thats actually not a bad call.

It's gonna be done Monday...

Brock to Carlton for Pick 11 - it's pretty fair for all.

I honestly think that pick 11 for Mclean is win/win/win great for Mclean, Melbourne, and Carlton. It is a fantastic trade!

After saying that the 'few details' with Melbourne might just be Robertson.
Melbourne are delisting anyway and it would save Carlton from worrying about the PSD. Robertson wants to come to Carlton, supported Carlton as a kid and wouldn't cost us to much if coupled with the Mclean trade.

If not Mclean for 11 is great. Im sure Carlton and Melbourne are very happy

what he said

If it were me sure have #50 and #66. Doubt very much we will use them

Would also be interesting if and when Fev goes would Carlton seriously look at taking Robbo. Would be a nice touch to include him in the trade as way of getting him to a club where he would get a game.

Perhaps your on to something.

Melbourne may chuck in Robbo for free. He's already been delisted so it would only make melbourne happy to find robbo a new home. I'd be very happy to see Robbo play for the Blues.

Would be happy to take Robbo for nothing, think he still has something to offer.

Robertson definately has something left to offer - this seems the most logical explanation to me.

Just an odd quote after the deal has clearly been agreed and discussed publicy by both sides. McLean is on Carltons end of season trip for goodness sake!

Hope you guys get Robbo.

Surely if you had an agreement in principle you wouldn't then be looking for the other party to throw a little more into the deal.
Strange times indeed.
