Just wanted to drop in and say while l'm glad we got Clarkson l'm sorry for what Rutten and your members are going through. l feel that if Rutten does leave then the only way to ease some of the pain would be for you to get Hird back. Good luck for the future..

If truck goes, I hope we look at RTB. Proven record as a defensively minded coach. Won’t put up with underperforming stars (e.g. dropped Milne and Nick Dal). Seems to be an uncompromising personality.

He and Campbell can share campfire stories

Honestly, it feels time to clear house at the operational end.
No coach is going to flourish.

Jackson got Melbourne flying straight. Get him back as interim CEO and do a search for someone new.
I don't know what's left for Colin Carter to do with the Tassie bid. someone engage him to review the club top to bottom.
Give the keys to Mahoney to run the football operation whilst that happens.
Leave Truck in place if he doesn't quit. If he does, hand it to Gia for a year.

Dodoro, Sheeds, Campbell, the entire board - please leave. you can't save us. If you could, you would have by now.

Didn't our decline start with Jackson putting financials first and football last?

Yeah well, there is the unpleasantness😬

Crazy to think we all sat through the Supplement Saga thinking it was one of the lowest points in our history only to reach this...........
I'd argue that was much, much, much lower than this.

if he hadn't I fear we'd be an expansion club :p

I think he has a record many may not like from his last stint (Bambi'd Sheedy), but he's the type of operator that does the necessary and we need that.
And really, it's about experience and stable hands until we find who should be at the helm

Carter is the man I want. That or someone who knows the inner workings of Sydney.
Cos right now I don't think I've ever been more envious of either club.

Unless the review brings up something to my eye and what I hear them saying X will be going no where or at the minimum get a smack on the but for not focusing more on football matters.

Ok, I’ll start by stating that I’m a VERY long time reader, but never felt the need to post anything… until now.

I’ve never felt embarrassed to be an Essendon supporter until this week.

For no good reason I feel shamed. It’s nothing that I’ve done. I just happen to support the most poorly run professional sporting club in the land.
I can’t believe some of the things I’m hearing and reading in relation to the day to day workings at Essendon.
The level of disconnect between the various departments at the club, and especially between the club itself and it’s loyal, passionate supporters is alarming.
How can the people entrusted with running the EFC sit back and be satisfied with the current state of things???? How blind and/or stupid are they to repeatedly make the same mistakes (from appointments to recruiting, etc)?

My love of this game has wavered and changed in the last 15-20 years, but my passion for the Bombers never faltered… that passion is gone now. I hope I rediscover it at some point.
If anyone actually takes the time to read this I’m sorry for the negativity, but I had to vent somewhere….

Good luck

Some perspective, I felt way worse after the WADA suspension and the AFL punishments for lack of governance.

I think we’ve just ripped the Band-Aid off.

that felt like it had closure and an element of take your medicine about it

this feels more like an abyss with no way out.
Not the miss of Clarkson, but the fact this played out without Clarkson locked in.
