I am for getting rid of them but maybe don't know the overall effect removing them has yes we aren't making money from them but they are just moved onto someone else.


For sure I would like us to get the the point we can sell/remove then and have other revenue sources and think maybe we need to be more active there than we have been

Isn't that the exact intention of the NoPE push? Remove the pokies from EFC venues?

I think Barham has intimated that there could be potential legal ramifications from including that in the constitution. I am for the removal of any reliance/use of pokies, but have to say the idea of inserting something into the constitution that is largely symbolic and may open the club up to legal issues might not be a particularly useful tactic.

According to Wikipedia millennials are ~ 1981 - 1996. So the oldest would have been 26, youngest 11. Obviously a very influential demographic there.

Not a millennial but yes it could have been worse. Sheedy did not even know all the players on the list in the last few years and was too distracted by the red wines and his horses.

Yep, he’d still be going round, speaking in Martian riddles and grooming Hird for a succession plan in another ten years.

In his own words, either on the Sacked podcast or Open Mike, he admitted this himself. So the idea that we did him dirty or should have retained him is just an odd call.

The mistake wasn't sacking Sheedy, it was hiring Knights and then making knee-jerk reactions for the next 15 years.

A more interesting question perhaps is which coach would've made the most difference over the last 20+ years? Is there anyone we could've brought in that would've had a profound positive effect compared to the coaches we've had?

For example, if Leigh Matthews had coached us instead of coaching Brisbane, would we have won more premierships in the early 2000s? Or if Bomber Thompson had coached us instead of Geelong would we have had more success?
