Did I say you wouldn’t improve? Making the eight is an improvement, which is still a long way from the GF.
You said there was nothing to suggest we would even play finals. Seems like a weird commen

Someone must have cared because it was one the rare times in recent history there were over 100,000 at the ground and it was the most watched program on TV nationally over the course of 2018
Maybe it's just you.
According to you, how unfortunate.
West coast is a bigger club in every success measure there is. Memberships, revenue, profit, success, average home attendences.
Yeah you're right, I'm sure "no one cares" that west coast won the flag, the sole aim of every AFL club. While you sit back and act as if WC are irrelevant, we've played in 4 grand finals for 2 wins since your last GF appearance, you've finished no higher than 7th, played finals in 4 of the last 15 seasons and haven't won a single one since George Bush's first term as president.

Aahaha, that's so adorable. If Essendon win a final then anything can happen.
Silly. There you have it folks, Dons V Tigers for the 2019 GF put your houses on it, Dons and Tigers the most evenly matched teams in the AFL. Both teams have had massive additions Shiel (Bombers) and Lynch (Tigers), both have strengthened their teams, 1 & 2 during the H&A season and 1 & 2 in the GF.
Nat and Gaff played when they were slaughtered by the Hawks in the 2015 GF.WC + Naitanui Gaff and Sheppard. How can they lose?
As did Ryan, Rioli, Cole, Duggan, Barrass, Jetta, Redden, Venables and Vardy....Nat and Gaff played when they were slaughtered by the Hawks in the 2015 GF.
I can't believe people still parrot this nonsense. While it's true we have more true home advantage, we also have far more true away disadvantage to balance it out. This means that when we play a similarly ranked team at home, we have a significant advantage to beating them, but also the opposite when playing away. Essendon may not have the same advantage when they play another vic team at home, but they also go into away games against other vic sides with a good chance of winning.Easier to finish higher than 7th when you are only a two team town and have a proper home ground advantage. Clubs like Essendon have to compete and share home grounds with 9 other Victorian clubs which makes finishing high up the ladder a lot harder.
No Sammy Mitchell = nose diveWC + Naitanui Gaff and Sheppard. How can they lose?
Two Rising Stars in the last few yearsAhh the annual Essendon will be awesome in ( insert year here ) thread/ media hype, only for Essendon to show they are just bog average and fail.
No higher than 7th since 2002
No finals win since 2004
Have suffered 10+ defeats in 13 of last 15 seasons
