Brad Crouch vs Ollie Wines

On League Teams Brereton, Parkin, Shaw and Brad Johnson all said that if Crouch and Wines were in the draft this year, they would take Wines ahead of Crouch.

I can accept that looking on the basis one played a full season and one played a bit over half.

To be fair they are all idiots that don't really do research or take their jobs seriously. They just get a free ride in the media for past successes. It's pathetic.

I rate Brereton's analysis, but having now watched a fair bit of Crouch I'm terribly impressed. I like Wines too, but I'd now take Crouch. But there are years to ponder and change one's mind.

Nah brereton just talks in this drawl which makes you believe he is deeply insightful but everything he says is pretty simple really, and some of it is just plain wrong.

As to the poll I'd take crouch over wines, just seems like a better ball user but there's stuff all in it.

Wines is 9 months younger and has the solitary preseason under his belt.

Has also returned his numbers for 8 more games/70% average gametime as opposed to Crouch's average of 81% which would skew the raw accumulation in Crouch's favour further.

Crouch did a hammy and then struggled to get his fitness up, basically ruining his pre-season effort. In the second half of the season he was running around with a dodgy Achilles which will be require surgery before pre-season. Even under those circumstances, he still crushed Whines. Not a bad effort.

Wines also has 1 less letter than Crouch. Also the average level above sea level over the season for Crouch was higher meaning less gravity. Also Crouch has less hair making him faster. Also Crouch was breastfed for 3.25% longer as a child. I don't know how Wines could have won with all these things against him.

That's how stupid some of these little excuses are from you Port supporters. Get a bloody life and accept that fact that Crouch is probably that bit better than Wines.

You just spent an inordinate amount of time refuting indisputable facts with a slew of intellectual poverty even Stephen Rowe would've backed out of.

This isn't 5AA or Coopers Hill, if you prefer unquestioned cheerleading of your demigods perhaps look elsewhere?

I doubt this forum should be one, where posters have hissy fights over players.

This thread would be better if there was less posts from Adelaide or Power supporters.

IMO Ollie Wines is the better player, night, evening, rain & especially when it's sunny.

He can be relied on by his teammates, he goes at it when it's his turn & he's a selfless player.

I question Crouch in all those aspects of his game.

However it is an opinion that the crows fans will violently disagree with, so good luck to them.

I look forward to 2014 as another opportunity, along with this year, for Ollie to prove his case in the finals.

Should this thread be on this board?

Crouch is very very good, will accumulate more than Wines. Ollie can become a goliath figure though, some of his overhead work in packs tonight was top shelf.

I'm calling it a draw.
