Please delete any post mentioning the PSD as it wont be happening.

GC and GWS (If they Pass on their last ND Pick) are both before us.

Both of their Midfields are a bunch of kids with one or two older players, they would both snap up Brad in two seconds.

The threat of the PSD is just that, a threat. Neither supporter group should take it seriously.

The club is trying to get Brad for our Second Pick rather than the Priority Pick. Port are always pretty fair with our trades, we have been known the past of getting screwed (Nick Stevens) but also pushing hard and getting slightly overs (Peter Burgoynes Brother) but this will eventually finish up being a straight swap for our Priority Pick, or our 2nd Rounder if the Eagles give in.

Let Rohde pretend there is a chance that he may go to the PSD, but no need to attempt to troll the decent Eagle supporters even humoring a possibility.

I think this is true as well, I think GWS will pass as it would mean them giving up an Eagles uncontracted player pick if they were to select him, but surely Gold Coast would nab Ebert with their PSD pick if he were available.

I'd prefer that we offer him to GWS for their pick 85. GWS have about a dozen extra players allowed on their main list (52 on main list ?), so taking Ebert would be a low risk option for them to take on. If he kicked up a stink and refused to play it would be no big loss to them would it ? If he pulled his head in and played well for GWS, it would be great for the new team. I'd much rather see GWS get him if he is to be "given away" for peanuts. Let's face it, pick 29 is really the equivalent of pick 41 in a normal draft year - due to the dozen 17yo that GWS nabbed last year out of this draft.

Masten+23+Ebert+Omeara for pick 2. :D:thumbsu::confused:

I call this whole thing as completely ****ing ridiculous and i just cant see how it could be allowed to happen but hey the afl wrote a whole chapter into the rulebook last year after the brennan deal just so that could happen and all without telling anyone or even adding it to the contents.

No doubt. Some confusion on the main board as to when the mini draft is held.

Clark will go to Fremantle for 16 + something.
Ebert will go to Westcoast for 28.
O'Meara will go to Goldcoast.

And Coniglio will go to the Greater West Sydney Coast Giant Eagles.

Ebert has to agree to any deal. If he really wants to come home to PA, he won't go to GWS in a trade

"Brad is a very good player - we picked him with a first-round draft pick (No. 13 in 2007) and we are disappointed he wants to go home when we are about to see his best football," Daniher said. "We're looking for a draft pick to compensate us but I don't think Port Adelaide will be giving us their priority pick (at No. 28)." Rohde confirmed this, saying: "Our first two picks (Nos. 6 and 28) are not on the table."

Personally, I'd want more than pick 28 but we're generally pretty happy to get shafted at the trade table.

Port supporters over on their board seem pretty confident about PSD..
Toovey won't make it to PSD.

I'd say most people would expect a trade to be done for pick 28 or 33 depending on who blinks first.

If the clubs can't agree on a value and he enters the PSD, I think the Port board is confident he will make it to Port and not the expansion clubs.

If Toovey does enter the PSD this only works in Ports favour. More than likely re-signs with the Pies though.

If if if if.

It will be pick 28 or 33 IMO.

Pies traded 25 for marty clarke and some spud and Port are being stingey with pick 28.

They do realise that picks do not convert to cash right?

the problem is the only other pick port have is 6 and ebert is clearly not worth that....

I read in an article earlier today that a few players want out of Port. I believe they were Cornes and Salopek (Can't remember exactly).

Anyhow, if Port really wanted to they could trade for a pick upgrade, which they could pass onto us. (Say Player + pick 28 for pick 20)

Of course, there's not much in that for them, because they can easily sit there and go "nah, sorry, our best offer is going to be 28, we couldn't find any way of getting a better pick", so it might be up to us to get creative.

was that the australian article? it named cornes and surjan? i'd take that with a grain of salt mate, theres only one club cornes would go to - adelaide, due to his sons health - and they dont want him. its no secret that theres been a falling out with everything going on this year. the surj news is a bit out of left field as well and id be surprised if there was any truth in that.

guess we'll see what happens, hopefully some progress is made in the next day or two and we can put this one to bed... not holdin my breath tho :)

draft it is.

we gave away a few duds last year, another will not do any harm

Perhaps we could use him as an offering in the PSD to even out the Stevens and Masten for pick 2 deal. ;):D:rolleyes:

I love it.:D:thumbsu:

If GWS pass on their last draft pick they get pick 1 in the PSD.

We should be talking to GWS about several trade options, not just pick 2 for Coniglio.

C Wilson + our 3rd rounder for their 3rd rounder plus they get Ebert if Port screw us around. We get a upgrade on our 3rd rounder which is pretty much what Port are currently offering.

If Port want to be arseholes well two can play that game.;)
