Brad Johnsons kick after siren!

For someone that experienced he should have got it, even though it was a tough shot. 70 degree angle 10 metres out on his wrong side for those who haven't seen the video. Fantastic effort by the Doggies, particularly from a team which got pushed by Melbourne last week to come out firing like that. But TBH though (and I know this may sound arrogant) we haven't really gotten out of cruise control much this season, I didn't listen to the whole game but it sounds like we got up by a fair bit and took our foot off the pedal.

Why the flying **** would you open the thread then?

Both teams had good and bad patches in the match, was up and down but Geelong never really looked like losing unitl the last 5 minutes. Lots of skill errors from both teams, dogs were kicking it really poorly in first, then Geelong in second. And both in patches in second half.

Stop it... I'm in stitches!

Johnson - what a joke. Pathetic kick. He should have retired a year or 2 ago. Finished
Yeah, because 26 disposals and 4 goals against Geelong is hopeless...

And should Ablett also retire given he missed a gimme with only 5 min to go that would have virtually sealed the game...?

This MAY sound arrogant? This IS arrogant.

You make it sound like Geelong took the foot off the pedal and cruised home against the Bulldogs. In contrast, it was a struggle to the end and if Brad Johnson had converted after the siren then your tone would be totally different.

Spud - not smiling now!!

Good - no fan of the doggies. Was great to see the players' faces - such disappointment was very enjoyable. We all laughed here

Johnson will be remembered as a pretty good player, but no star. And for the guy Moorcroft stood on

Geez thats rich from a supporter of absolute rabble like Richmond.

I enjoy trouncing your soory @sses everytime we play just to watch the look on your supporters faces as they scream 'sack the coach'

Disappointing for Johnno and Bulldogs. Geelong are a very good team.

I don't understand the mentality of some the responses here. It's making me want to come on here less and less.

No doubt you'd know, seeing your team is bogged down with guys past their prime who continue to get games.

Gotta feel for Brad. Took the mark and immediately I thought back to the Roos match and the Crows game. Everything looked to be falling in place for a Dogs upset - comeback from 6 goals, bring back to three with a minute left, mark with seconds left, umpire bringing him back when he attempted to play on. Probably rushed the kick a bit but it was by no means easy.

It was a very tough kick . Particularly when he couldn't play on .
It was close but never looked like it but the Doggies were stiff .
Gave up too big a lead to chase down in the end .

Yeah not sure about that mate. The man on the mark was about 8m out from goal and he wasn't on the boundary line like some people are saying. It was a tightish angle but he would kick it from there 9 times out of 10.

It was a definite brain fade. He heard the siren mid way through his approach and he should have stopped, went back, compused himself and then thought about the delivery but instead he rushed it.

It should also be noted that he technically did play on and made the angle easier then it should have been. He was lucky to have not been called play on but it would have taken a brave umpire to do so.

Feel sorry for the smiling assasin. I really wanted him to kick it so that Aker could have a fairytale 300th.

Such bitterness could only come from the mouth of a Richmond supporter. Pathetic. You deserve everything your joke of a club serves up to you.

Anyway, feel for ya Doggy fans. Really is a shame to see such a good bloke like Johnno miss on the siren for the second time. No doubt he'll win one for ya's in the near future though. As a club, great work, really took it up to the cats. Proved you are a pretty formidable opponent when your up and running.

Great match to watch. Kudos to both teams. :thumbsu:
