It's been 2 years since I posted in this forum and I've just about had enough!

It's about time we got ourselves a kicking coach or someone who is prepared to show our players how to kick the ball straight.

The amount of turnovers (especially when there is little pressure) just absolutely kills us!

Enough is enough!

2 years roofus, 2 years and 30 mins could have saved you a post.:)

We still have a lot of work to do.

did you see the rain? Some of our kicking was fairly decent DESPITE the weather. Garlett, Thompson, and McMahon are three names that immediately spring to mind.

I agree. Let's bring BT to Arden St for set shots at least. Let's face it even a 5% improvement would make a big difference to the win/loss ratio. Our field kicking is relatively weak because we simply don't have the big stars in our team, although since Simmo &Power have not played we look better

Garlett kicking is a concern but far out the boy can get the ball, he wants the ball, he makes it his and that by far outweights the negatives of his poor disposal. It will improve with experience and he will learn to remain calm, atleast he doesn't kick to many helicopters they seem to spin right.

By BT you mean Brian Taylor who got Jack Anthony to change his kicking style and his accuracy went down soon after.

The weather and wind was terrible from what I saw. If that was in dry conditions I'd be concerned, but it was pretty funny stuff.
Seemed like Scotty Thompson and Greenwood were the only ones who knew how to play in the wet, rather than trying to pinpoint passes, just bang it forward at all costs.

Yeah, agreed with Roofus, winning absolutely sucks.

Gawd, I hate that shit.

Agree Roofus.
Our kicking/handballing is pathetic. It seems like whenever there is a little bit of pressure our blokes turn the ball over more often than not! getting the ball isn't a problem, it's what we do with it that has to be worked on again over summer. Don't get me wrong i am rapt with some of the positives to come out of the year but i really hope that blokes like Urquhart, Garlett, Campbell etc can improve even more and become the guns that we know they can!

I,m just happy we won ,scott has months to get rid of the dud kickers free kick poses and hopefully we will see our boys like the old days ,tough never ever say die rooboys

Greenwood's another one who has to work on his kicking. He put the ball out of bounds in the 1st 1/4, under minimal pressure, because he simply can't/won't use his right foot.

My post has nothing to do with last night's result.

Our disposal is "consistently" poor, have a look at each games stats in The Age for "effective disposals" and compare that with what the top sides get.

It's the main cause as to why we've had such a roller coaster ride over the last 7 years.

Anyway.... your response is a typical reason why I don't post here anymore and probably won't again.

Jeez, relax mate, Mr Alcohol played a fair part in my posting at 4:14 am on a Sunday morning, so I'm sorry if I couldn't fully comprehend what this thread was all about in my non-sober state.

And FWIW, re-reading your OP, I agree with what you're saying and it needs to be addressed big time in the pre-season, because it's painful to watch. The weather last night certainly didn't help at all last night, but our turnovers have been a reoccurring theme throughout this season and for most of this decade.

Hey Roofus,

Fully agree with you on both, turnovers have killed us for 7 years and yes its hardly worth posting here anymore.
