Re: Brendan Fevola

Fevola has done no better than the popular and no-fuss Daniel Bradshaw, who would have preferred to have remained in Brisbane.
But Bradshaw moved to Sydney with the security of a three-year contract despite his age, 31, and is having the last laugh.

Lol. I'm sure Braddy will have the laugh last. Just not sure that it will be at Brisbane's expense. Nice omission that he didn't play last week.

I'd be laughing too if I got a 3 year deal at age 31 despiute having knee, back and hamstring problems.

We've got two of the three leading goalkickers in the competion, one of them being Fevola. Interesting logic to say that we've stuffed up.

Re: Brendan Fevola

Easy to say when the TEAM is in a big form slump. It's hard to kick goals at FF when the midfield isn't getting the ball there. Hardly anyone is playing well ATM, let's see them say the same when we get back into some form. Also easy to say when Fev is carrying an injury.

Yeah that cracks me up every time. Let's judge at the end of the season.

Voss praised Brendan Fevola for his five-goal effort, which showcased some of his freakish scoring talents from a range of angles. He said the full-forward was stung by a poor performance in round eight against Geelong.

“The important facet that he adds to our forward line group is his pressure and, when the ball hits the ground, his second efforts,” Voss said.

"If he has the intent to get after the ball once the ball is on the ground, he can kick those general play goals that we’ve seen him kick.”

Re: Brendan Fevola

I didn't watch Fev at Carlton every single week so cant tell if he did this as often there as he did here. But has anyone noticed that when Fev gives a lead and the delivery sits up a bit he doesn't even try and contest the mark and instead tries to hook his player, turn, and run onto the ball as it goes over his head..

He has given away at least 3-4 frees this year for hooking the defenders arm as he tries to turn them. It can be succesful occasionally, but it is a tactic that would look far more suitable for a small-medium sized forward that is outsized in the contested mark situation. Sometimes i wish Fev would just make a contest and keep the ball in front of him. I always thought Fev had body smarts in the contest and could actually take a catch 1 on 1???

Re: Brendan Fevola

It was interesting to watch McGrath (or was it Sherman?) run in to an open goal late in the Adelaide game and not have a very pleasant reaction to Fev who had obviously asked for the ball so he could have a gimme to add to his tally. Did anyone else pick this up?

If it is the incident I have in mind, wasn't the goal missed?

Yep - was McGrath... although it wasn't conclusive it was in relation to him asking for the ball.

Actually you are both right. McGrath got the handball over the top from Power late in the last qtr, Fev was running from a different angle and gave him the "what about me"

Sherman gave Fev the "you selfish bastard" look when he kicked the goal over his head. FWIW, Fev did the right thing from where he was it was easier to do what he did than try and get the ball up to Sherman.

My concern was the the team ethic does not appear right. Are Leading Teams still working with us?

Re: Brendan Fevola

fev is still playing good footy, unfortunately the team are not playing with him, at first i thought he gave a few away to be humble, now i think that he is missed a lot as a shot for goal. lets face it the passes that he has been given have been woeful, if he was at carlton, we would not have lost to collingwood, still sorely missed

Re: Brendan Fevola

When the team was in good form, Brown/Fev were kicking 10 goals between them for the first few weeks. Our bad team form ( as well as injuries) have caused the none functioning Brown/Fev forward line, not the other way around. If we were playing decent and hitting a target the form of Brown wouldn't be anywhere near as noticable.

Goal of the Year Nomination

Fev was nominated for his freakish effort in the dying stages of Sunday's clash with Adelaide at AAMI Stadium when he snapped a goal over his head while lying on the turf, surrounded by Crows.

Daniel Rich interviewing Brendan Fevola

DR: If you didn’t know Brendan Fevola, how would you want to be known?

BF: (Laughs) What? Who made that question up? That’s the worst question I’ve ever heard.

DR: Just answer it.

BF: How would I want to be known? As a person who likes to have fun, enjoys time with his mates and is good company to have around.

DR: Why do you hate the boys going in the plunge pool in their undies?

BF: I just don’t get why blokes shower in their jocks. When you’re at home do you shower in your jocks?

DR: This isn’t about me…

BF: Answer the question.

DR: Of course not.

Re: Brendan Fevola

Fev tears the Pies a new one in the second half...... after looking like a lost soul for most of the first.

The pick up on the half -volley , half turn and (almost) blind shot on goal from 40 for the sealer in the last quarter....ah Fev....got love him!:D:thumbsu:

Re: Brendan Fevola

The fat, lazy, injury riddled gambling addict has now taken the lead in the Coleman medal race.

...and the vast majority of the goals he's kicked have been "manufactured" by himself....... snap shots, grubbers from ridiculous angles, bicycle kicks, half volley pick ups and blind turns.

Just imagine how many he would kick if our onballers and midfielders could give him some decent service.
