Fev had enormous potential, nearly kicked 100 in a year when Buddy was on fire.

Bloody alcohol.

Richo, had a big Tiger heart, his early years were freakish, then he did the knee a few times and really worked hard to be a major contributor for Richmond.

A player that gave the Tiger Army reason to go to the footy.

I love them both. I was going to say I wish I saw Richardson in consistently competent teams, but the same applies to the Fev.

I pick Richo, just. His 2008 season was amazing for his age.

I could play what-if with Fev and ask what if he had his head on straight and played out a full career? By the same token though, I could also ask what if Richo didn't do his knee in 95' when he was looking like he could have been anything. Never quite came back the same. In the end, it's Richo for me.

Not on topic, but Ablett, played many years up the ground, did his knee, left footy in his prime only to come back just as good and kicked over 1000 goals. Had his demons too

Freak

Back on topic...Fev good handy ff. Richo good versatile footballer

Fev frustrated me and entertained me in almost equal amounts. I was dead keen to move him onto Eagles when Judd was coming. Unfortunately we had nuftes like Greg Swann doing the finer details of such trades and so we gave up the promising key forward Kennedy and kept the troubled individual Fev.

Ironically a few years on and the chickens came home to roost when Fev at same Brownlow table as Judd clearly got drunk early and made a muppet of himself all night and doing it on tv was the last straw.

Then he got traded to Brisbane and his personal life stuff intersected more and more with his professional football life commitments and the rest is history.

Least he got his life back on track now and grown up. He has always been a good egg at heart but does some dumb stuff from time to time and needs saving from his self. He had some serious talent though and entertained many of us. Maybe he did not end off his career how he wished but least that forced him to do a bit of soul searching and come out a better person for rest of his life ahead.

When you look at the sad life of Cousins after his football career, Fev by comparison has got his life way more on track.

Well any way you slice it, it was one of his best seasons, right after the knee injury.

I don't know what to say. Again, not much to do with what I was saying. I watched a lot of Richmond in 1995 (the SF vs Essendon remains the best neutral game I've been to) and Richardson never came came back from that knee as quite the same player he was looking early in that 95' season. Could've kicked 150 goals and taken 250 marks in 96' for all it matters. It just doesn't impact my observation.

Fev was a wasted talent. Only played 200 games and kicked in excess of 600 goals. He was Delisted in 2011 at 30. He could have had another 3-4 years in which he could've easily kicked another 160-200 goals.

Richo was just unbelievable. To think he missed out on the brownlow in 08 is criminal. Averaged 3 goals a game with pretty bad kicking efficiency.

Monkey King has a point, whilst statistically 96 was a super year, he was far far more impressive in his 7-8 games impact wise in 1995. Looked a freak was working up and down the ground taking marks over ruckmen, in 96 he played a lot closer to goal and whilst you dont shirk at 90odd goals, I felt in 1995 he wouldve at least got that plus lead us to a GF at the very least. Never looked as good as he did in 1995, except for late in his career when he moved onto a wing, for mine that was the best season he ever put together

Fev, Richo overrated by media and Richmond fanboys.
No not at all over rated, brilliant as a forward and winger huge tank great mark he was the nick reiwoldt of his era but better
12th on the all time goal kickers list as it is and most of any player at the G and he has a lot of injuries and played out of the forward line quite often

Fev is good as a forward but they are not at all the same type of players.

Stickiest mitts in the business

Nah you're flat out wrong on this one. Richo is one of the best contested marks of all time, comfortably averages more than any player in the top 20 records at 2.77 per game, Sav Rocca is the next best at 2.13. He also averaged more marks, contested marks and inside 50 marks than Fev, in fact he'd lead by even further if the stats were recorded during his earlier years which were among his best.

Fev had the better night tonight in a tas v vic legends charity match in tassie, kicked at least 10 I think and Richo probably got 5 or 6 .
