Is only doing what the club outlined back in 2015.

Proud of him for backing and playing the kids in key positions. Could’ve overruled the Thomas decision and selected a key mature body. Could’ve played Ed and Murphy on ball from round 1 but instead trusted Walsh, Dow etc. Could’ve said no to trading Gibbs and co.

We will be very well off in a few years time all thanks to Bolts. Sadly it’s a results based industry and something has to give.

I’d be culling Amos, Davenport, Stanton etc. before Bolts.
I actually think this is part of the issue. We get Dow is the future but he is continually getting reinforced that if he doesn’t run defensively the coach might show him some video in review but he will play next week. He is too committed to the rebuild when a winning culture is more important.

Unfortunately their is really no evidence that Bolton can coach and this he needs to be moved on.

Respectfully, I don't believe anyone here would know until he has a list that is capable to stand the rigours of the game
Cripps, Weitering, C.Curnow, McKay, Kreuzer, Walsh, McGovern, Murphy, Simpson and SPS. By no means should this group of players be pushing for a premiership or even finals, but they should not be the clear cut worst team in the league.

Our list is capable of being competetive, yet we have won once this year and 4 out of 43.

The fish rots from the head as the saying goes.

Where has his public support been? Non existent!

At carlton functions he sits in his booth with his own clique and doesn't even spend time with past greats. What the **** is that??

I’ve seen him at club functions go out of his way for supporters and past players.. MLG isn’t the head that needs to roll

He is moving players around to find out what the have, not all will survive

We were spanked in the clearances again, which is unusual, but even with Ed around the ball, that didn't work

He tried SPS off HB, out of necessity, but that hurt us around the ball
We where spanked in everything because Cripps had a dirty day no coincidence our performances have headed south in a hurry since his performances have been on the wane of late .
Cripps has been papering over massive team issues in rebound lack of scores from turnovers and woeful forward pressure and retention .

IMO it's only Bolton and the coaching department that needs to go. Bar Amos.

MLG has overseen a period where we've added Judd, Liddle, SOS, Lloyd and Russell to key posts.
That's good work imo.

I think those 5 are all very capable in their roles and strong leaders in important positions. A big tick.

From the outside looking in, the only key position that's looking questionable right now is Bolton as head coach.

no process, no dribble but no caretaker either

someone with heart pls

3 disappointing things Bolts said in his presser

annoyed about daisy's response in the twos yet not annoyed about his teams performance

runner used as an excuse - runner helped us heaps last yr

Youth card - we need to wait till our players get to 100-150 games, so another 3-4 yrs

call a spade a spade, or use one to dig your own grave

I thought the youth card was a direct swipe at SOS.

Sadly the runner comment points out his own coaching and coaching assistants deficiencies in having coherent plans for players to folllow.

Hey Laurence, hope you and the family are well.

I'm hearing differently from someone very close to me who is involved with the club. I also don't like that he is nowhere to be seen while the club is under the pump.

Sack Bolton and bring Amos in as caretaker. Not Barker.

Unfortunately after years of backing the bloke I've just had a gutful of Brendon, it's time for him to go - doesn't seem like he inspires any of the players to atleast have a go. Football department to get the arse at the end of the year too

i

Amos has turned **** into gold (newman, jones casboult), rejuvenated the elderly (thomas), turned the weak into the strong(weitering) and getting boys to fight like men(stocker) - all year

Maybe I’m wrong on Amos. Was under the impression Watson was in charge of the backline.

Point was that the assistant coaches must be reshuffled.

Let me be clear again, I am not defending Bolton, I am stating what the fact of the rebuild are as a comparison

Average margin till the 11th game of the season

Lions 2017 = -35 points
Lions 2018 = -20 points
Carlton 2019 = 23 points

The assumption being that the CFC will win more than one game after the bye. Which hasn't happened since, at a guess, 2014. And this time it would be on the back of a young midfield that's utterly cooked by the halfway mark. It's not going to just turn around.

No no...whatever you think of him personally, MLG does make s big effort with fans and the corporates alike, this is from personal experience not hearsay

Why on earth would you cull Amos? The backline is the only semi-decent line we have and it has saved us and probably most supporters' sanity in the last while.
Bolts is gone. If not before then at the bye. Nice bloke, no one questions that. Is it too short a break for B.Scott to start yet? Dunno. If caretaker coach 'til years end then we could do worse than Dale Amos.
Next coach will be tough, hard, driven and experienced. Will also have game day savvy.

If you think only one appointment hasn't worked out you are seriously mistaken.

Explain to me this, why has the president been nowhere to be seen? And why does he sit with his own clique instead of spending time with ex players, who are the lifeblood of our club?

I only said at least one appointment hasn't worked out.
I don't know about any of as I'm not a club insider.
I also don't know about the so called 'clique' but from all reports I've heard he is quite approachable.
As far as I'm concerned a good club president gets their job done being seen, not heard.
The only club prez I ever hear is Eddy, and a little while ago J Brayshaw but even he generally kept his mouth shut and let the team performance do the talking.

When the players don't believe anymore it's just inevitable.

Bolts tried and failed, no shame in that. Time for somebody else to have a go.

I agree that Amos is the right choice if we look internally for the interim coach.

I'd go left of field and have Sam Docherty coach for 12 rounds in the event Bolton was removed.
The players love him.

Can confirm that since MLG has come on board....how the club interacts with its official supporter groups has improved tenfold compared to previous administrations over the last 10 years.
