Is this the guy Geelong supporters were saying wouldnt get a game with them this year?

As a cat fan I was disappointed to see him leave because I rate him very highly and know he would be in our best 22. However at the same time I agree with the decision the club made. We needed a key forward, and even more so now that Graham has left. And while many will say Ottens isn't a key forward I believe we still needed to take that chance.

And while disappointed to see him leave, I would rather have lost Beamer than either of Kelly or Tenace as was being requested by other clubs as part of the trade to get that top ten pick to ontrade. I really hope he continues to perform well for the Dees, well with the exception of round 3 ;)

It seems to me that given the choice of giving up Kelly, Tenace or Moloney, Geelong had to pick Moloney. Kelly is a complete player, Tenace has one freakish attribute and very good skills on top of it. Moloney is a rugged ball carrier who kicks the ball long, and that type is more common than the previous two.

The combo of Moloney, Sylvia and McLean will form one of the most potent midfields for years to come: this is evidenced by the fact that Melbourne played possibly their best mid in Yze in a FP for the entire night. Luxury!

Sub-note: Yze could kick 50+ given a full season and with the type of supply Dee forwards enjoyed tonight.

i was at the game and sat on the wing and he was the standout in at the centre bounce. i think with this bloke in the dees side they could possible have the best midfield in victoria.

clearly best along with brad green who tore us apart and white at those bounce downs just dominated after 1/4 time
