Brent Prismall

Not going to happen.
He's special in that he has the best disposal of anyone in our team and decision making. The most effective inside 50 player in our team. Give him the ball 80 out and 9/10 your gauranteed and scoring opportunity within 40m. But DW we will keep him if that's all your offering, or trade him to another Melbourne Club.
Haha, best in your VFL team, if he was that good he would be getting a run every week.

Would Melbourne considering trading Brent Prismall (who came into Geelong side for 3 weeks averaging 25 disposals and 90% disposal efficiency) for your Priority draft Pick? Would keep Prismall over that in normal circumstances but due to depth he cant get a run and will probably want out at years end.

So Prismall for Pick 17?

Pick 48 for him

I would have seen more of prismall than you ever had. I see geelong vfl heaps and am a close observer of what goes on down here in geelong and i admire many of their players.
I state prismall is a good player but he is not worth pick 17.
If he was in our midfield he would cop more attention than he does when he gets to roam free for geelong and wouldnt be aloud to run riot like he did in that game at the g you talked about above. Im saying when he gets off to a hot start like he did at the g that day, the opposition team would tag him instantley if he was in our midfield. While at geelong he can play as well as he did that day and get away with it, what they are going to take taggers off ablett, bartel, corey and selwood to cover prismall?? Please!!!!!!!! Prismall hurting you is not even as close as ablett or bartel hurting you.

Like someone else said he a dime a dozen mid-fielder, doesnt do anything special or outstanding, just does the basics and does it well.

He would be the equivlant of michael braun when west coast had their best midfield running around. Great when hes not relyed on but not an a-grader when the others arent there to help out.

Pick 30 plus at best.

Yeah, I agree with you on this one. Its much easier for him in Geelong's midfield. Firstly, he doesn't get too much attention from the opposition as they have so many other concerns ahead of him. Secondly, the Geelong midfield is so talented they have the ball in their possession a lot of the time, so it is easier for him to get it. He would not be collecting 32 disposals in the equilavent game playing for the demons.

For pick 17? No, certainly not. He is a good player, that isn't in dispute, but I don't think he's good enough to give up a pick that high in a fairly deep draft. Although there are soe advantages attached to picking him up for pick 17 (or in that region), I think the opportunity cost is too great.

I couldnt imagine he is a player we would be chasing..

Id rather chase Daniel Pearce - as he would add leg speed to our side..

But, I dont think we will be chasing these types of blokes anyway, its a strong draft and something to look forward to for our supporters.

The draft is a gamble but you may giving up a chance to get a star or a very good player. Prismall looks good but if you are in Cats who are just so clean with ball, its make you better than you actually are eg Headland with the Lions. Does not Prismall make other players around better? The answer is no. Maybe, give up your third round pick.

I'm not certain he's actually been linked with Melbourne. I think its just people on this forum discussing him as an alternative for the club come trade week.
people on this board were talking about him last trade week, they will do it till he comes, prismall suits melbourne for some reason, but i still dunno why

Did anyone see the vfl game on the weekend?
I didnt, but I heard from people that Brent was "ok".
Was he tagged? Im sure there would have been someone paying him close attention.
42 touches, 18 marks and a goal.
30 touches last week against werribee and his man 5.
Andrew Bews said on K Rock he couldnt shake a tag...?

and to the bloke that posted the picks from 16-18 and put those players in bold and said there better than Prismall. Are you serious? Half of those blokes are hacks. Some most people wouldnt even know! me included.

What do people think about Prismall winning the liston, playing lets say a bit more than half the games in the season. Very familiar ring to it... i.e Sam Mitchell. Will he follow the same path?

Who went at pick 17 in past drafts is irrelevent in this discussion.

In a very strong draft and with a draft lockout looming we need to add as many kids as possible from early in the draft this year and next to increase our chances of picking potential stars.

Should the fact Keplar Bradley went at pick 6 devalue that as a draft pick?

What about some recent pick 4's in Josh Kennedy, Farren Ray, Richard Tambling & Tim Walsh. No stars there, shouldn't that mean it's worth less than pick 5 since Franklin & McLean were picked there?

You have to trust your club can judge the talent right and get you a future superstar. The chance of this happening with pick 17 is a lot higher than a pick in the 30's, as the recruiter will have more players from which to pick from.

Bottom line is I would take Prismall cheaply, is he out of contract? Could be worth a look at in the pre-season draft. I wouldn't trade more than our pick in the 30's.

Ill differ with you there, he is going to be an absolute star. Such good hands and way quicker than i thought he was at carlton. West Coast actually won out with that judd trade , masten and kennedy and some other draft pick with whom i dont know they selected.

He is contracted until next year. Good luck with your pick in the 30's, if he turns out to have half as much talent as Prismall you'll have done well.

Keep him we dont need another slow mid-fielder anyway, got plenty of them. Would rather get dejkeera or what ever his name is off ya anyway. How about our third rounder for dejkeera?

Slow mid's with skill > pacey mid's with poor skill; just look at the Geelong midfield, fastest player is Ablett and i wouldn't say he's speedy.

Djerrkura was taken with a second round pick in the 2006 draft (pick 25 over all) and is a development player who has come into fruition of late. Don't think so.

i see plenty of geelong vfl since im a geelong boy, and yes djerrkura has a lot of potential and upside..........but, theres is not a flipping hope in hell he will play seniors for you guys anytime soon unless both stokes and varcoe go down together. Varcoe is just starting to get a game now (i know he had the foot injury) and the raps on him where way bigger than djerrkura.

So essentially your better off trading him now if you want to get some sort of trade value for him while hes young, but geelong probaley wont.

Besides they may need a back up foward/midfielder when we come and snatch chappy off you in the pre season draft :p:D
