So favorite deledio moments?

Some moments for me
5 Goals v the pies in 07
Match Winning last quarter v the pies R7 2015
Deledio beats hawks 2015
His pick up and handball for matt white goal v lions 2008
His stop and sidestep v the hawks in 05
His run and dash vs the blues round 1 2013

He had made the record for fastest goal ever, not sure which match or if it’s been broken yet, but he did it in a tiger jumper

delicious

To rub salt into the wounds, the prelim was also Deledio’s 250th game.
As Richmond fans shook the MCG and celebrated their team’s preliminary final victory, Deledio was in tears as the final siren sounded.

“It was a day full of emotion. I remember being out there at times, it’s very hard to concentrate when there are 95,000 people — and 94 and a half of them are supporting Richmond, your old club. It was an emotional game, but it is in the past.”

I loved him as a tiger but felt betrayed when he left, i might feel a little sorry for him, mostly feel bad for him as a player to finish the way he did but to me he is a retiring player at another club not someone i have as a poster on my wall.

All said and done, was one of the best one grab marks I have ever seen play, in my time of watching footy!
For that alone thank you BD! :thumbsu: :thumbsu:
His work rate was underestimated as well in those years he played off half back, was robbed of consecutive AA guernseys in that time due to us being shit. Was maligned for being unaccountable but he was busting his gut week in week out to get back and help.

Not even close to 2005 ... Oakley Nicholls, Hughes, Casserly ... three duds of the highest order who played one good game between them (Cleve).
Deledio nearly gives 2004 a pass on his own. Tambling and McGuane had their moments and Polo played more good games - about four - than the 2005 bunch on his own.
Yes 2005 wasn’t pretty although I still think 2004 set us back further.
Instead of Lids and Tambling you have spine players Rough and Buddy (superstars at that) and you build a team around them for the next decade.
JOK was a terrible selection and it would have been nice to get Shaun Higgins, Hurn or Mitch Clark (picked after JOK) but they’re not Buddy or Roughead quality.
Cleve and Casserley - duds but looking at players selected after them none had what I’d term successful careers
Having said all that our player development was shizen back then so in all likelihood it would have amounted to very little had we have made those selections

Still can’t believe they gave the HBF to that douchebag Harry O’Brian

Good player for us, but leaving for “success” with a manufactured team was ridiculous. Like Jack said on 360, it’s about the journey not the end result.

I think we wanted to boot him after the review. Once he got the word he was out I don't really blame him for chasing a flag. Hilarious that he didn't get one and we did but better idea than going to Carlspoon Druggies or Geelol or something

I'll always take Tambling's 100-plus games over the return we got from the 2005 crop.
It hurt, but Tambling was not as bad a footballer as made out and did deliver some good football, albeit way off what you'd expect from that high a draft pick. Sucks we took him at #4 ... if he was picked at pick #30 or #40 he'd been a success. And as you rightly point out, amplified when #4 could have been Buddy.

This was one of my favourite Lids games

Round 12, 2013 V Adelaide

We played him loose man in the 1st half and he carved the crows up like it was a dry day through sublime footskills.

When Sanderson finally decided to man him up it was too late, the damage was already done.

(Video of Dusty kicking 4 goals is in there too)

Deledio was supreme footballer. A Ferrari when we had nothing else in the garage. Glorious skills and speed. His problem was that we relied on him too much.
