Every commentator bar Dennis is an over zealous, rose glass's wearing, football romantic with best ever calls spewing from every orifice and then re used for next weeks ''big'' clash. A seriously sad state of affairs are those channel 7 tators.

coz we're a crappy team and nobody cares!? its just the same miserable stuff game after game, it depresses commentary teams, nobody wants to put their hand up for an eagles game, it makes them suicidal afterwards!? they actually get paid double the going rate to sit there and endure a game, then half of that paypacket is spent immediately afterwards on a therapy/mental cleansing session!?

but Tony Bodgie Shaw is the absolute pits...
followed closely by the Smug Melbourne Cartel - Eddie, Dermie and Co.

Is it just me or do we almost always get the fox sports broadcasting/commentry team for Eagles games?

How come there arnt many Eagles games with the channel 7 team?

I really cant stand some of the fox sports guys e.g. dwayne russel.

We will only get Channel 7 commentators on a Friday Night/Saturday Night or Sunday Morning/Arvo games in Victoria, it's always been like that

Fox have some blokes who I really like. Huddo, Gerard, Dunstall, Brereton etc

At least it's not like the old days when we used to get Kevin Bartlett.

In 2006 we still had about 13 foxtel broadcast games

We only have 2 FTA games this year. I think we are the lowest in that regard. It lets me complain about my bug bear, giving us so many shit house Sunday Twilight slots which are always Fox games.

What makes you like Derm?

I find him quite amusing, think he's pretty light hearted about most of it - I think people try and take him too seriously a lot of the time. He does also tend to come up with some really good points from left field.

I listened to Derm a fair bit on radio when I lived in Melb (only moved back to Perth last year). I just like his style.

I'm a big fan of Dunstall too, that bloke knows his footy.

I like Basil, I think he and Hamish are actually a really good combo.

It's very easy to criticise and nitpick on this stuff, I think we generally get pretty good service from the networks. I would agree with a couple of others that the bottom end of Fox's talent pool is pretty shallow - Shaw, Hall etc

We had Basil MC at a work thing that we had on. He does get the crowd into it.

I just dont like his commentary. He tries to "Dennis" is up too much and can miss the mark

No argument that Shaw is hopeless and never gets anything right even when replays show his errors but must disagree with your choice of Brereton'. I like him when he being interviewed bat as an "expert" commentator he is bloody annoying

That's because he is trying to work out who the player is, even then he get's the name wrong half the time.

Don't get me wrong I have met him and he was a surprisingly nice guy, not up himself as I was led to believe, but he does make a few mistakes commentating. Not the worst but also not the best.
