This.

He will play vs. GWS .... however, I don't know when he'd play again after that.

No reason why he can't play against his old rabble a few weeks later.

I think Brock is being treated a little harshly by some supporters. Sure he's no star, we know that. However to say he was awful against Essendon is a stretch. Certainly wasn't our best but it was a dirty, dirty day for our club and he wasn't alone in being below par.

I reckon he would've played this week had we been in Melbourne.

He was so bad vs essendon it was scary, I had hoped given his preseason maybe he would be better but in fact he looked even worse.
What was more scary was that half the team played crap in the 2nd and 3rd quarters and capitulated against a more desperate Essendon.

It was Brock's first game back in the seniors for a while and he actually got more clearances (8) than any of our midfielders. What excuses did the others have for their pathetic performance??

Too slow wont play for carlton ever again
Unfortunate
I have to agree, no point in giving him like 5 games a season, when you know what you get. We could be blooding a young guy like Buckley or Bootsma a few games to get a feel. We should be playing our best side and if injured giving games too see if guys like Collins deserve another year . The same applies to Kerr who have not seen AFL as well as O'Keefe and Carter when available if promoted.

I believe it would be best to introduce a couple of new guys like Fraser Dale, maybe Pat MCcarthy and see how Sam Rowe goes for a game like this. I say this as you still need to put a good side but add some young players too see how they perform, see if they add anything to the best side.

Have been a vocal supporter of Brock and still am.He wasfar from our worst V Bombers, but his lack of speed was clearly displayed. Will support the man "til the end" but now concede he does not have a significant place in our future. Good luck Brock, but these critics are goingto have a win.

Not certain what there is to be gained by bringing him back in when we already know that he is not part of our plans for this season or beyond, would think Ellard would come back before him, and it may worth trying a few younger players that may be part of our plans beyond this year against GWS.

Saved me a post!:thumbsu::D

Not a knocker but not a fan.
I liked him at the Dees and was looking forward to him playing in the Navy Blue.
BUT, has shown absolutely nothing in the time he's been here. I thought he might seize his chances when Carrots went down against Essendon, but didn't really go in hard or really compete. Leg speed was always an issue but it's not just his leg speed that's slow, it's his decision making. Gets tackled before he has made up his mind how to dispose. Sorry Brock but I don't see you coming back into the side unless there's a string of injuries.
Apart from Carazzo, AJ, Curnow, Robbo & Army are all better at in & under than him.

was supposedly recruited to provide help to judd, i don't think he's done that when he has played, let alone trying to do that in the reserves. it's paying ourselves a compliment when we say there is no space for him in the first 22.

I never knew Brock at Melbourne so can someone give me a short go at why he isn't the same player as back then?

The game is just so much quicker now to when Brock was running around for the dees, plain and simple, it's a shame coz I really liked brock at Melbourne and was excited when I learnt we picked him up, hhmm hind sight would be a wonderful thing to have.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing and I was as excited as everyone else when we picked up Brock. When you look at the players we could have drafted though (Sam Reid, Nathan Fyfe, Ryan Bastinac), sometimes it's just better to go the way of youth.

Not sure people where happy at the time of the trade in fact it was never a popular decision.

Anyone who watched his last season at the demons realized he was at best a pick from 30 to 40.

Brock was a ball of muscle six years ago...

Sacrificed too much power and bulk to improve his speed and running post-injuries.

Watts for Brock straight swap?

Probably a fair trade, they need someone who'll put a bit of effort in and Watts may come in handy in a better side with less focus on him

BUMP!

Stiff to be dropped after the Dons game, fingers crossed today he regained some much needed self belief

Finally with a chance to play the role he was recruited for and he showed what he can do. With Murphy out I expect Brock to really make his way back as a regular in the midfield.

His hands were great today and so much for him not being able to cover the ground. Was at most stopages and also spread well from the contest, not to mention his tackles and shepards.

Well done on a great game Brock - now keep it up.
