Worse case scenario for Brodie could still be the best for him as surely this is the right time of the year to be sacked, just before nominations for the PSD.

Collingwood could always sack him and then redraft him saying he's on a final warning - that sort of thing.

Does anyone know if the victim was related to Holland?:D

Geelong Football Club president Frank Costa believes Channel Nine's Footy Show producers should strongly consider turning their spotlight to the dark issue of family violence.

Mr Costa made his compassionate call in response to a female victim of family violence who challenged Footy Show host Eddie McGuire to tackle the issue.

The woman said when Collingwood was getting beaten, she was getting beaten.

She believes the show might be able to deliver a powerful message to abusive men strongly wrapped up in a football drinking culture.

Mr Costa said the persuasive powers of McGuire and AFL heroes might help to relay the right message.

``I'd say the Footy Show should consider it,'' Mr Costa said.

``There has been this request put in by this lady who was very badly treated.

``That lady put out a cry for help and we've all got to listen to that, how we react is up to the individual person.''

He said the AFL was attempting to stifle unfair tactics on the field through its video monitoring.

``Perhaps we should remind supporters just because they haven't got a video camera taking what they do in the home . . . it's just important they play the game with a straight bat,'' Mr Costa said.

Mr Costa said the AFL and its clubs and players were sharply aware of their positions as community role models.

Eddie McGuire and Footy Show producers were unavailable for comment.

What the hell has that stupid bit of commentary from Costa got to do with anything. For one thing who gives a toss if it was a female. If my wife was set upon by a female I'll flatten anyone couldn't care less male or female and most of you would so don't pull 'oh it's a girl' rubbish.

Secondly perhaps if your pres wants our pres to do something about domestic violence then perhaps he should do something about grown men introducing drugs to young girls. See it's all rubbish isn't it!! How the hell is it the clubs fault what happens?
