Hi Guys just a quick question....
What is going on with Holland?
Me and a mate from work were just discussing it and can't remember if he is injured or just not getting a run. Any info would be great!!

Season over and almost without fear of contradiction, career over. Been an excellent soldier for us over the years.

He might be walking out the exit door with Ryan Lonie and Ben Johnson, as well as Wakes or Presti, one of whom will almost certainly retire.

Thats a lot of experience we'll be losing and our list next year be younger than ever.

Thats one of the reasons im so happy that they blooded all these young fellas this season, and in particular the last 6 or so weeks...the list will be young but most of them have had a taste of the big time now and I cant help but keep thinking about the Baby Bombers in 93 or whenever it was....youthfull exuberance, young confidence, no fear and nothing to lose could bring a huge reward in the next 2 seasons.

I'd like to think very few of them, if any, will be delisted. I know we have to make room for Macaffer and Wellingham so thats two extra spots needed, but with the four or five senior players going plus maybe Egan, hopefully most of our youth get retained.

you could say if they keep holland, then perhaps one or two of say...cook/stanley/iles/egan, rightly or wrongly, would not retain their spot.

simply based on the fact that we have to delist a certain amount of players. plus wellingham and the caff are certain upgrades as stated above

Stick a fork in him, he's done. :(

We'll need to retire a number of experienced players over the next three or so years, as we won't be able to cull too many list spots while the draft is so compromised.

seriously?? last time i was there my mate got randomly bottled....enough said.

email i got says (dont ask why i get e-mails from Dakota!):

WOBBLE THURSDAYS LAUNCHES SEPTEMER 18!

BE SURE TO CHECK OUT OPENING NIGHT WITH COLLINGWOODS BRODIE HOLLAND LIVE.

FREE ENTRY TILL 11PM!

But yes i agree, not the most welcoming or safest establishment. Guess they are using him as a marketing ploy to attract girls, which will attract guys. I hope he has some security because knowing that place there will be some grade-A w***ers who will no doubt act like heroes and try to do something for their 10 seconds of fame.

Anyways best of luck to him, sorry for getting a bit off-topic :p

I'd have to say you're spot on there Old Chap. This is a lovely summation of the situation that took part those years ago. Well played Sir.

I think you're on the money here.

I hope to see Presti retained and think he is the most likely.

Presti is a fair bit younger than Wakelin and was preferred in the final last week when both were fit even though he hadn’t played a senior game all year. I will be very surprised if Wakelin doesn’t retire be it his or the clubs decision and amazed if Presti does. I don’t mind the backline mix in that case.

It's certainly looking that way now, MarkT. Even factoring in that Presti's shoulder may not come up, and Wakes may play this weekend, the longer-term decision seems to have been made in favour of Presti.

I almost hope that Presti is a late change this weekend, Wakes having a good record against Kosi anyway, we'd be able to give him a decent send-off appropriate for such a great servant of the club.

If we win you might find both selected against Hawthorn. You need a backup for Franklin so you need a 3rd tall defensive option. That's unless Anthony is a surprise option. Now wouldn't that be something to watch!
