A sensible analyst has opinions all year but is open to changing them after a full season analysis at the end of R22.
I think Round 22 couldn't have worked out worse for me. I sort of considered Ablett around the mark but he was always off the pace - I just expected one of Selwood, Pendlebury, Judd, Montagna etc to poll some votes in round 22 to get the lead and instead Ablett locked in 3 for the win and Swan will probably poll and thrust himself into a top 2 position at least. Shame.

Also, those saying Black is a huge danger because he polls so well needs to go back and look how well Brown has polled over the years. Not quite in the Black class, but good enough to be extremely reliable.

Spot on, R22 turned a lot of the year on it's head !!!! You need to stay open minded in this game.

Yeh thats why Black is a no go for me aswell. Black could poll in as many as 8 games. Like him to get good votes in Round's 7*, 10, 15*, 18, 21. Could poll in a few others too.

I got Brown winning but not by a whole lot. Brown 12-15, Black 8-13.5, the rest far behind. Brown's first 3 games + Rounds 19 and 21 are the big ones. Could poll 14 votes there. Apart from the Collingwood I game I cant see him getting another vote. If he's only on 4-5 after the first 3 then he's in big trouble

He will be leading the medal after round 2, I can almost guarantee that.:)

What do you have Black polling in and your votes CC? Cant see him beating Brown personally.

I dont think he believes Black will beat Brown, but just saying that it shouldnt be considered a moral 100%. Im sure no one back 2 years ago expected Black to poll in those less than those 20 disposal games. But he polled quite well in them. I think he could poll pretty well, a BOG and could sneak a few singles and also poll in a losing game i remember he played well in where he could get 2 even 3.

The only thing with Black is that he hasnt been anywhere near as damaging this year, his foot skills have died off and i think his ability to win a clearance hit a forward was very eye catching to umpires.

I almost used Harvey in an anchor with Thompson, Watson, Brown (covering it so that 3 had to lose to bugger me fully). I cant believe Harvey hasnt been used as much and i probably shouldve used him as an anchor. Swallows year probably wasnt much better than last years and also Harvey has had some real dominant games and also kicked some super goals and multiple goals. Also had plenty of long runs.

agree, nothings a so called "lock" if it were then why are the bookies still offering it? the general hype/buzz on a selection is what the bookies love because they know the more it's talked about, the more likely punters will still continue to back the selection at any price, even short prices and all it takes is for one of these short prices to lose once or twice every now and then and they'll be loving it!

jeez all this brown talk is making me nervous. Still think he will win as he has been dominant in most wins, also black has been giving it to the umpires a bit. I remember that game against the roos where he gave a massive spray for being called for a throw at the end of the match.

His dominate games have been in losses as well, i think Brown has it sewn up, people just second guessing themselfs as its still 2 weeks away and people have placed their bets etc.

yeah i know i do it about 10 times a day! Its just a concern as i have brown in a few of my multis so i will be waiting for those first few brissie games with anticipation.

Haha im sure we all do well ive given Brown 4 BOGS which puts him on 12 + the port game where he could poll 1-3, gave him 0 in the coll game but he might sneak 1, Black will struggle to get into double figures according to my votes.

By my count I have Brown polling in...

Rd 1 - 2
Rd 2 - 3
Rd 3 - 1
Rd 10 - 1
Rd 19 - 3
Rd 21 - 3

Total - 13

and Black...
Rd 5 - 1
Rd 7 - 2
Rd 10 - 2
Rd 15 - 1
Rd 20 - 1
Rd 21 - 1

Total - 8

I don't see Black as a threat as I'm relying on him to poll in 4 losing games which may be possible just because he's Simon Black but there's no way he outpolls Brown. Rischitelli and Brennan are more of a threat to Brown.

So do you stick to the Brownlow as your only form of betting??
I wish that I could say yes to that. Like others I have a flutter on horse racing at times. I hardly bet at all this year away from the medal as I can't compare the value.
I'd rather put heaps on Brown to win Bris votes at $1.60 than a maiden at Sale on a Heavy track.

I don't think you saw a lot of Swallow's games this year.

Not alot i must admit. However i watched the game against WCE and he dominated on the stats sheet, but he didn't stand out alot from watching the game.

and im relying alot on stats this year, but they have served me well in the past along with looking closely at bounces, clearances, CP's, past history.

I would love Swallow to get up as hes in my multis, but i just don't see it. I have him getting 8-10, but he could be an interesting surprise packet, certainly a player that the umpires tend to like.
