From a One eyed homer collingwood supporter, Pendles year was much better than swans. IMO clearly pendles best year ever. I remember swan doing strange things in games ie Kicking the ball left footed across the HBF along the ground costing us a goal, Continuously turning the pill over and Shots at goal were going out on the full or not making the distance from 40m. I am a massive dane swan fan but his disposal this year Hurt collingwood ALOT, too many woeful turnovers whereas pendles kicked a bunch of goals and should be an umpire catcher, just glides across the ground

Mitchell lead Hawthorn in clearances/game this year. He was also 2nd in centre bounce clearances/game (.1/game behind Lewis) in a team that was 3rd overall in CB clearances. He was also their clear leader in stoppages.

Quite impressive for a cheap half back flanker.

Cant agree more

This BS that hes played HBF all year is a load of crap and getting way over played

The hawks shuffle there players around the field more than any other side. Hes rarely played an entire game staying on the half back flank all year.

Also hes taken alot more kick ins this year. When the hawks win the umpires turn to one man.

For me hes been more damaging this year than others.

Hodge will get alot of 3's and 0's. Roughy will pick up 1's and 2's. They may have had their best seasons but guys like Rioli, Buddy, Birchall who in past years have taken a few votes havnt so they sort of cancel each other out.

Swans history is just so hard to go pass

2010 - 24 votes, 3rd, avg 3rd most per game
2011 - huge 34 votes, 1st, avg the most
2012 25 votes, 4th, actually avg more votes then the winner Ablett. Fyfe the only one avg more.

Still think Watson is good value at $5 for the Round 10 lead

R1: Win against adelaide. 34D, 1G. The 3 and 2 will be split between Watson and Howlett (24D, 4G). 3-2 votes
R2: Best afield in Melbourne thumping with 38D, 3G. Heppell next best. 3 Votes
R3: Tagged out of it by Crowley
R4: Win against Saints, 37D, 2G. Stanton, Hibberd, Heppell all chances for votes, but i'd say Watson was the best. 3 votes
R5: Anzac day belting of Collingwood. Was probably second best behind Anzac medalist Zaharakis. 2-1 Votes
R6: Unsighted against GWS
R7: Solid showing against Geelong, but given the performance of the Cats, I dont see his 30D attracting votes
R8: 29D, and 2G playing forward in Brisbane loss. Was easily the bombers best in a close loss. 1-2 votes
R9: Won the dreamtime medal with 28D, 3G. Stanton had 39 but most of these were typical stanton possessions. 3 votes
R10: Unsighted against Sydney

So with that tally he could end up with anything from 13-16 votes
Most places appear to have Ablett around the 15 mark. Any chance that the whole essendon saga has made Watson more noticeable to umpires ?. Just a thought

I have compared Mitchell' stats from last year to this.

Mitchell 2013:
28.3 Disp (Up from 27.2)
9.5 contested Disp (Down from 12.5)
74% Disp Eff (Down from 75.2)
3.5 Marks (SAME)
4.2 Clearances (Down from 6.5)
1.8 Centre Clear (Down from 3.2)
2.4 Stoppages (Down from 3.2)
3.1 Tackles (Down from 5.5)
0.2 Goals (Down from 0.3)
3.4 inside 50s (Down from 4.2)

3.0 rebound 50's (Up from 1.7)
1.0 free for (Down from 1.6)
1.7 one % s (Up from 1.5)
1.2 bounces (Up from 0.4)
0.9 goal assists (Down from 1.1)

You might want to have a bucket handy then, he'd be lucky to get 2.
Had 40 kicked 2. and nearly willed his side over the post single handedly, While hawthorn had Smith/Hodgey/Roughy and a good balance, Griffens ability to burn tackles break lines is what chris judd used to do except griff hits more targets
