News Buckley standing down; Robert Harvey interim coach for 2021

So you're saying it's not normal for a once very good team to drop off? Guess what, hawthorn dropped off after 2015, then got worse .and worse, and now they're bottom two. It's the way the cycle works.

Yeah but didn't they have the youngest list in the comp at the time? I remember the thought was that they would dominate for years post 2010/2011 because of their list age bracket. It's probably a good debate if he was a successful coach or not. But given Collingwood's financial and power status and the list he took over, he probably should have accomplished more.

Guess what, so doesnt anyone else. Yet they're doing very well coming to conclusions as to what's happening behind the scenes. I can see very clear what's happening Infront of the scenes and that's what I'm commenting on.
Please show me where bucks has been treated particularly unfairly? If you were saying this in reference to Adam Goodes I’d be in full agreement. I just can’t see it with bucks.

Maybe it's time to put down the crystal pistol hey?

Not everything is a conspiracy or media driven, cancel culture agenda. You are constantly parading this sh*t around these forums.

Bucks' defensive game plan was stale. Completely tedious to watch. Results on the slide. Questionable player handling during the off-season. Club is about to embark on a rebuild. Pretty obvious exit point really. With everything else going on at the club, most people saw it as the time for Bucks to move on this year.

They certainly didnt need the media telling them that. All you had to do was watch the games and look at the results. He was done.
If you guys played an attacking gameplan right now you'd comfortably finish last and have a 1st draft pick fall in your lap along side daicos. He's playing a gameplan which best spares a bit of dignity.

I actually like Buckley. I like the way he speaks and presents. He's knowledgeable and articulate. He has moved on at the right time. I think he has run his race at Collingwood, but i think he has more to offer to the game moving on. I would have no beef if the tigers picked him up as an assistant coach at some time down the track.

From memory North Melbourne offered Buckley their head coaching job which then caused Eddie to panic and try and work out how to get Buckley in as coach at Collingwood despite already having a very recent premiership coach in charge, which resulted in Collingwood sacking that very recent premiership coach and putting in someone who promptly dismantled a premiership side and in ten years of coaching only improved on their previous season once.

Lol at the media being blamed for Buckley's exit. They have been shining his shoes all year, whilst constantly gunning for David Teague.

He has coached Collingwood for 10 years. No Flags. In a results based industry, it was the right call for both parties.

The only thing the media should be accused of is obsession with his personal/private life, which is beyond the pale.

Yet another person involved in football pushed out of the game by a degenerate society combined with story hunting media. Wtf is wrong with us as a community.

The media in general have been to scared or bullied out of going even half as hard at Collingwood as they could have the last 10 years.

Comments regarding his relationship with players and losing the dressing room etc when no one really has any idea.

Same here. Wouldn't mind him at Essendon in some capacity.

I don't think it will happen though, anywhere. Reckon he's just too much a Pies man, which is fair enough.

I love it when my club plays to spare its dignity rather than look like they're trying to take the game on and win.

I really rate bucks and reckon it's only tall poppy syndrome in Australia why he isn't rated higher.

Obviously he will finish his playing and coaching career without a premiership, but that's nearly the only blight on a pretty wonderful career.

That prelim final where he left Grundy to do nothing against GWS will haunt him.

I like Buckley and think he has handled himself very well throughout his coaching tenure especially the last 12 months when the pressure has mounted on him. Would like to see him in the media if he doesn’t want another coaching gig which I doubt he would.
