Buddy's Suspension Stands

Crap decision.

2 weeks is just ridiculous, imagine if we were in the top 4 and he missed out on an assault on the flag because of that, or a grand final.
Would never happen. Not if it was Collingwood, Carlton or Essendon anyway.

Unfortunately if you're Hawthorn and you lack the drawing power of the biggest Victorian clubs then the AFL will happily shank you from behind in order to give one of the "Premium" AFL clubs an advantage.

The bump is official dead unless the rule is changed(doubt it will since the AFL is a dictatorship).

Their is too much risk to execute a bump especially if playing for a GF spot.

RIP

whats the difference between this bump and the one that lovett murray got suspended for, both were high contact in the head, both left the other player dazed, i dont think it deserved 2 weeks but i think it deserved 1 by the letter of the law, you cant just plant your shoulder into another players face, i think all hawk supporters should just calm the **** down

Blame that ******** Maxwell. without his weak effort , poor old Buddy would be playing. So collingwood fans can go **** themselves, which the males ones do

biggest load of crap right there, what does it matter anyway, you were never going to beat essendon on saturday, just proves hawthorn struggle without there buddy and players and supporters are so reliant on him

Re: Buddy's suspension stands!

Good decision.

Hopefully Buddy learns to go the body, not the head from here on end.

Champion is a term bandied around too frequently in the AFL but idiot isn't used enough on BF. Tool.

As a matter of interest - was Buddy going for the body?

yeh its all a big conspiracy bosk... Have a listen to yourselves. Bunch of crybabies. Anyone from any club would have got rubbed out for the same bump.

Wrong, wrong, wrong!

Buddy grew up playing aussie rules. He bumped playing aussie rules. He got suspended for playing aussie rules. It's just ****ing wrong. Some woods supporter commented earlier (and my ADHD stopped me reading any more comments) that that would teach him not to go the head. Think about it, he's 2 meters tall and braced himself for a bump that was legitimate, Cousins is 1.75m tall. There's a thing called physics, when a 2m body with 100 plus kilos strikes a 1.75m body with 80 kilos the only way a man with 2m body can not slide up to the head is to charge on his knees. Buddy didn't go for Cousins' head. It's unfortunate what happened, but it is a contact sport. This is not the same a Barry Hall decking Staker....Sad day for footy.

Go Hawks! Make it to the second week of the finals so Buddy plays again this year. Essendon have already done well this year, so missing the finals won't be a setback.

Your a disgrace to the red and black. Hand in your membership you lickspittle.

Huh?

Appeals board chairman Peter O'Callaghan said at the conclusion of Franklin's Thursday night hearing that the board was in support of a tribunal jury made up of "three distinguished and experienced members".

He had also highlighted that the case was not a re-hearing and that the appeals board did not have the jurisdiction to overrule Tuesday night's findings.

What was the point of tonight if they couldn't overrule the ban??

I think we need a 'ridiculous overreaction board'.

Seriously... It was a little harsh but he's hardly the first player to get done for something soft. If it was anyone else, there'd be 2 pages for the whole incident, tops.

who are you a stalker? Or someone else. who knows. I won't be paying.

Harsh but not surprising.

The AFL changed the rules on purpose to prevent clubs successfully appealing decisions like this, like Collingwood did with Maxwell. They were never going to overturn this decision as it would make them look stupid.

Absolutely pathetic decision by the MRP I'm not a Hawks supporter but they have been robbed! plain and simple. It was an accident and it wasn't intentional.

And yet Danyle Pearce can punch a player in the face and not even get sighted for it what a ****ing joke this MRP is seriously  I hope Hawthorn do take this to the high court but seriously what a ****ing stupid result.

I hope you love your gift spot in the finals Bombers.

I did, several years ago.

I'm a disgrace. Never denied that. But I'll wear my lack of grace proudly old mate. Joking or not, your comment isn't worth more than the half-arse answer I've given. Winning without honour is sad. There's no honour in what's happened today. At least we didn't cheat, winning while cheating is worse. Essendon beating the best Hawthorn team that was possible on the day is proud and worthy. Essendon beating a so-so Hawthawn team because of this, not so much. Bag me, I deserve it.
