Just watched the game
I thought we actually did a good job stopping their run game, we got ahead in the game and were able to force them into throwing . Their offence is just very very good .

We were 35-14 up at one stage , yes some wobbly moments late but I think we really controlled the game.

Wonder if the attrition of back to back road games and a bit of a let-down from the high of last week were there today .
Sounds like we were ultra conservative with not playing some guys too

It's going to be an odd game

They are in line to get the 1st pick in the draft so they won't want to win - bar the players
We most likely will be resting starters and treating the game as a bye .
JA might play a half , maybe even just a 1/4 .

Who we face the next week is interesting . I'll very pretty happy for KC to lay down against Broncos which eliminates the Bengals and would send Denver to us first week .

What do you guys think of McDermott? Is there any world that he’s in a little trouble losing first or 2nd week of the playoffs. Should handle Denver if that’s the case easily and then home against prob Baltimore ? I mean what more can he get out of this team offensively anyway. I would suggest he’d be safe but the rumblings would increase if we didn’t make the Conference championship… and Baltimore bitchslapped us last time around too../

I think he is safe mainly because the Pergula's are very loyal type people and have backed him in .
Would need a belting at Buffalo and even then I think he would be fine
Keeping in mind internally they viewed this as a reset year .....so that also buys time in case of a bad playoff loss

I have zero confidence in him under pressure especially against Reid or Harbaugh .
Put it this way I don't think his coaching would be why we beat them , if we did .

Yeah interesting takes. Especially with more so the ‘rebuild’ year. I find McDermott and similar with Nick sirianni interesting because obviously they’ve been successful in the league but the nfl is just so cut throat. And when a team like buffalo continually don’t get over that hump you just never know. It will be a tough couple games anyway getting Baltimore and then potentially going to KC after the first week

I would’ve said he could’ve been out after the clock management issues at Houston.
Has done well again.
But agree it’s tricky if we go down again.

Sometimes it feels like McDermott gets inside his own head, as bangbang says a lot like Sirianni. If he beats the Chiefs there'll be a 10 year contract in it for him, if he wins the Lombardi it's lifetime with a blank cheque

If we go out in the Divisional (or god forbid the Wild Card Round) then questions will continue to be asked. Feel like his relationship with Josh is the key.
