I agree KS. Every week its the same. We cant keep carrying him. As I stated last week, he'll be of more benefit mentoring our young KPP at Bendigo. If he picks up form, bring him back. Why should he be carried? At some point players have to finish, they cant go on forever.

We have two key forwards that can't get any separation on their leads, Lloyd can still take a contested grab so thats his only avenue to goal thesedays. Lucas poisons everything he touches unfortunately.

If Gumby was fit then lucas would be in the VFL next week. Neagle may have to play whether he deserves it or not, at least he can get off his man and give the midfield a genuine leading option.

Am Scotty's biggest fan and under normal circumstances he should be down at Bendigo this week.

But as Blighty said during the telecast, what guarantee do we have that his replacement is going to be any better. If it makes the situation worse we have to stick with him for the time being.

Lucas has always been problematic on the lead (hard hands, easily spoiled), but has had enough ball and been a penetrating enough kick to be dangerous.

I don't know whether it's confidence or speed, but his contribution at present is clearly negative. Time for some VFL time at the very least. If he's not prepared to do that, bye-bye.

He really must go this week. He has no speed to break away from opponents and isn't nimble enough to turn opponents inside out. He is missing easy shots and is just struggling in all aspects of the game.

Neagle must be given a go. Even though some say he has to earn his spot, just think... has Scotty earned his?

Very sadening because he has been such a great player for such a long time, but he just has nothing going for him anymore, plain and simple.

Thanks for a great career.

It's time to move on. You are a liability out there and we'll be better of playing McPhee up forward and Hooker down back until Hurley and Daniher are ready.

Lloydy your not far behind.
I daresay i disagree, Scott Lucas is not at all finished.
Throughout the game today, he's beginning to get his marks down, and he didnt take too many shots today did he? because he should have.

Lloydy is ok. Got his 900th out of the way, should be ok.

Scotty might get a life if Fletcher has to miss the Hawks game. He might be used back perhaps.

Hooker showed enough to suggest he will be in for a while now.

You are a joke. Bagged Hooker before he played tonight but now you want to keep playing him? I thought he was Chartres eque?

Either you haven't read what I said against Hooker or you're another one of those peanuts whose more interested in me than discussing footy.

I said Hooker should not be played in the ruck. He's another version of Chartres but quicker.

If push comes to shove we play him back and set up our forward line for the next few years - capish.

Lucas is finished in the modern game.

What about his second efforts and the ease of which the defenders spoiled him and ran away.

The only time he can take a mark is when he's 10m in front front a turnover.

Has much has I'd hate to say it,
I do think Lucas is finished. Last season for sure.
Drop him for a few weeks, bring Neagle in perhaps.
Or maybe stick him up back and let him spoil instead of trying to mark ball.
Lloyd, I think he will be inspired to lift his game. Best game this season thus far was against the Blues...
here's hoping he has another one in the very near future!

C'mon boys,
we gotta lift against the Hawks!! :thumbsu:

Great playe, great career and probably no clear player to come in.

That said, Scotty is done I'd rather have a Danihar, Hurley (if fit) or even Neagle up there.

I agree, hes been a brilliant player for us but unfortunetly has reached his sell by date. I now understand why they would only give him a one year contract.

How the f---didn't anyone see this coming? What was Lucus' form like in practice matches pre-season?

He looks slow, very very slow. That dropped chest mark in the 1st qrt said it all.

Kills me to say he's fin......shed. Absolutely kills me...:(

yeah i have some really fond memories of watching him play and do some magical things, but sadly like all great players, there comes a time when it needs to be over.

i see the logic in saying you can only replace him if there is someone that is going to do better, but when the reward for keeping him in his current form is so little, why not take a punt on someone else that may not be great. a younger player coming in has a chance to get better, whereas from the signs this season, lucas isnt going to.

Im sick of hearing people say he's getting more of the ball and it will turn around. The only marks he is holding are on the wing and half back. When he missed a sitter at the start of the last qtr against the Pies that broke the camels back for me. The bulldogs have been winning games without KPF's for years now, we need to set up different and make the most of what we have.

Lloydy will be fine. But Lucas looks absolutely shocking. Looks slow, kicking is looking pathetic, dropping chest marks, and when he's not it's usually too far up the ground to do any damage, and not inside the forward 50 where we need him to be taking them. McPhee would be a much better target up forward, drop Lucas and just get McPhee to replace him, simple.
