Okay, so I have an inground pool that I suspect may be leaking. However before I call the pool guys and make a fuss about it, I want to make fairly certain that the water loss I'm experiencing is not just due to evaporation.

Does anyone know what constants and formula I need to use in order to do a back of the envelope calc for expected evaporative loss? I know the surface area, average daily temp, ambient humidity, hours of exposed sunlight, that sort of thing.

Thanks, looks like I should have chucked 'pool' into my Google search - I was just getting tons of sciency-type forums and papers that I couldn't understand.

Looks like my problem is just evaporation. Need to get a pool blanket, it seems.
