Yeah but wasnt this the first time they competed for medals?
Nah they were awarded medals at the summer x-games too. OpTic won gold in both games. Even as an eSports enthusiast, I think it's a bit of a stretch that eSports and Olympics are even mentioned in the same sentence though. A bit laughable really.

I read some of the eSports teams having a huge cry about the Olympics because they wont be competing for money. Those flogs should neck themsleves and clean up the gene pool.

Whats next Fantasy football as an Olympic sport.

I have no issues with eSports but they dont deserve to be next to Olympic sports or something like that, and have dont have the right to cry about getting medals but not money [The athletes at Olympics dont make money from winning]

Some of the communities in eSports are ridiculous. Call of Duty players have gone from moaning about how the scene isn't big enough and how Activision haven't done anything to help it, and now that Activision is supporting them they have shifted to complaining about how the prize pools aren't big enough and won't allow for crowd funding.

Like anything though, if it's not one thing, it's another. They've got it pretty lucky as most in NA/EU can call it their job... Doing something they're passionate about and making more than most.

I completely agree. Also with the term eSports, even as a fairly big fan, it's not something I totally agree with. :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Technically they are if you play them competitively.
sport
spɔːt/
noun
  1. 1.
an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment.
"team sports such as soccer and rugby"

It certainly involves skill, and there is some level of "physical exertion", how about something like Lawn Bowls, requires very little physical exertion, and an olympic sport, I am not an eSports guy at all, but i dont think the argument is as clear cut as you think.

So does sex, is that also going to be considered a sport? and would that make prostitutes "pro Athletes"

Bowls is not an Olympic sport. It's a Commonwealth Games sport.

CoD and skill should never be used in the same sentence, unless it's CoD 4.

Black Ops 3 as an esport game....because no skill specialist ability kills and abusing the poor hit detection and auto aim mechanics with that quick scoping garbage is such a joy to watch........
