as Cameron has been delisted by Port after playing a whole 1 game for 2010.....

....what would your thoughts be in recruiting (as he has played with the pies before) possibly used in the same way leigh brown has been. remember the guy is 25-26.

obviously this guy will never be a key forward or anything more than a pinch ruckman, but maybe with a different work ethic he might be worth a very late pickup.

i know this thread doesnt hold much weight, i just seem to always hold a soft spot for ex-pie players that i saw some potential in.

I'd happily take him back. I think he had some amazing potential for a Leigh Brown type roll... he kicks them from outside 50 well and holds his own in the ruck. Has great potential for a sub.

Imagine that though... Both Taz and Cloke return!

He couldn't even find a permanent spot on Port's list, he is just not a consistent league footballer, especially in a top 4 side like ours.

If he is wearing black and white next year, it will be in a VFL jumper, as a VFL listed player.

His only hope of being AFL listed is the GC Suns.

I'd make an offer to get him as a VFL player, just to give the Cloke family a bit of stability and David a bit of extra income.

No way to CC on the list though, he has had his chance. The only chance would be as a mature aged rookie, and it's not the worst move if we can get Fraser to leave and go to GC17.

While neither are statistically spectaculer, Cameron Cloke actually has better career stats (more marks and hitouts, and a better frees for/against ratio) than Leigh Brown. Obviously stats aren't everything, but I think Cam could play the Anvil's role if recruited.

As a rookie I wouldn't say no if Leigh Brown was to retire.

No demand out there for him but he can play his role if we need him to which means he does have some value to us in the immediate while Keeffe/ McNamara/ other ruck prospects develop. With Wood who's development is to some extent questionable Cloke represents a cheaper alternative to using our 1st rounder to get David Hale. So I would not oppose this in the slightest even if the vast majority strongly oppose this.

Really just a situational pickup where if the list takes an unexpected turn he is a cheap but immediate possibility to fill a potential void.

The other recycled player I like is Rhan Hooper if the rumours are correct that he has been delisted. Forward pocket who can tackle. Just a perfect but cheap fit who fits well into our structures. Much cheaper than Andrew Krakouer!
Has had his issues, but if he wants the chance he is one I'd look at very closely at a late national draft selection.
