Hush money, as has already been mentioned, has been admitted to by Elliot, corroborated by the woman to which it was paid, etc, etc. The whole rape incident is still in the midst of being sorted (or at least media publicised), as far as I can tell, but, as I said, claims like that are hardly likely to have just come out of nowhere.

And tanking? Well, look, maybe you could blame '02 on having been hit hard financially after the fines from the salary cap breaches, but the constant years of suffering... seriously, why else would they appoint the caretaker coach that couldn't even win a match?

Oh, salary cap - of course that's an issue, because this competition is meant to be even, not governed by money, so if your club is trying to lose the evenness by governing the game with money, then obviously that's an issue. Hence the nigh-on $1000000 fine.
