Carey and Crowd

I am simply amazed. Watching the footy today from AAMI staduim on Ch9.

Watching Wayne Carey either going near the ball or kicking for goal and not a BOO to to heard !!

First time this has been the case for how long ? ?

Did anyone else notice this ? ?

This is the first time he has played for a team where there is more fans.

I would say for sure that he will be pretty safe not to be booed at AAMI staduim and when not playing Port Adelaide.

So for the majority of the season he will be booed.

I think he gets off on being boo'd. It doesn't bother him one bit.

Yeah he said last week on the TV that it doesn't bother him. He would be used to it..

Looks like he is having a field day at the moment. 4 goals.

And I just wonder what the crowd reaction will be in five weeks ?

Can't say I'll BOO him coz I wouldn't feel right doing that having cheering & supporting him on for over 10 seaons. Never really was my 'actual favourite North player' but definately acknowledged as one of the best I've seen. I'll feel very uncomfortable that night watching him play against us.

Great game by Carey, The crowd got what they deservedly paid for ...a Crows win with Carey playing a part.

Not a bad game first up for someone " over the hill".

But I wish Brayshaw would interview someone else after a Crows game...like Ben Hart in his 250th

C'mon TopJars....how long have you been paying attention to the game ??? For the Crows to recruit an "over the Hill" player who will definately BE THE SIGNIFICANT REASON why you guys can be

instead of making up the numbers is a slap in the face to the likes of McLeod, Goodwin and Hart.

Just face it...CAREY is bigger than the game to some media circles.

Even Hart playing 250....deserves to be interviewed but NO....like I said...CAREY is bigger and more important !!!

Same here! Carey's a gravy train for fantasy footy, I thought, when I drafted my team last week!

At the end of the day, he's just a football player, and with footy being a results-oriented business, it's good to see him just focusing on footy and having an environment in which to do that in. And his play today certainly showed that he's ready to just play footy, and not have to be burdened by anything that happens off the field.

And what was Carey’s worth in a trade? Many here were so sure he would be a hack and only worth a third round draft pick. Noticed he wasn’t wearing any shoulder strapping, werent his shoulders, in fact his whole body meant to be destroyed? Oh and a year off would hurt him? Hahaha
How do Crows supporters feel about the trade now? Im almost tempted to search the old threads……..so be honest with your views now and then.

Just goes to show how fickle footy fans really are. Two years ago the same 40,000 people were booing him and wanting his head on a platter.
It's not just Adelaide fans, it's all fans. All a villain has to do is pull on your jumper and all previous misdemeanours are forgiven.

That's a no brainer

I used to dislike him intensly - probably becuase he was so good.

Now I love the man - as a footballer.

Off the field - he still has a lot to prove for redemption.

so MarkT he is going to do this on the footy field??? I doubt he has spoken about this... or the media did not here him say... as it would have made frontpage headlines in the Sun... he has said he just wants to play footy... but as far as looking for redemption for he personal life... no you are wrong...
