Carey says keep North at Arden St

Plenty of us feel like that, I bet. It would be well worth the "I told you so's" from Carey devotees to have him get this campaign well and truly rolling.

Carey could help his own cause by watching us week in week out for starters so when the discussions about North are abound, he won't look foolish or ask embarrassing questions. That's the FIRST & FOREMOST thing he ought to do for the club & his sake. No "I told you so's" bragging rights just yet.

Like being (at the moment) the only high profile person in the media to state North should remain a Melbourne-based club?:thumbsu:

At least, at the very least, he is being heard. Even the board can't cut through the media garbage.

And if you don't think Carey has an impact, imagine if he stated that the GC might be a feasible option.
(I am still getting over some poster trying to tell me that Carey needed to raise his profile.)

IF the 'bragging rights' are a reference to me - what's to brag about?

He is the best player ever to play the game and a club legend. Surely ANYONE can see that. To have a piece of club history missing from the club, does nothing to enhance that part of history.

I also felt the same way when Schimma left the club and didn't return for such a long time. He is one our legends that does have a son, who does not play footy, and I believe that the family took a long time to come around.

Thankfully, Schimma is back at the club.

And is making waves at the Tribunal:p

My post basically says... Carey ought to watch North games. That's all. I don't think 2 hours a week of replay recap time isn't going to hurt his cause when it comes to making wise comments about North.

Sounds like you're happy to brag about Carey piping up about his support for North... good on you. Wasn't the same bragging right issue I was referring to. I guess you've already forgotten how JYD pantzed Carey on FC show. ie: Thommo >> Wells ;)

Im not sure if anyone saw FC last Monday night, but Carey repeatedly praised the kangaroos efforts on Sunday, and even brought them up when they had nothing to do with the conversation. Seemed very proud of them actually. :thumbsu:

Imagine them working together for the same pro-NMFC cause. It would be magical.

I agree but it doesn't have to be at board level y'know. Assistant coaching association group would be my prediction on thier expertise dept. On gameday, would you prefer to see Arch / Carey in the stands in suits or firing one on ones in the team huddles?? ;)

They're almost better off away from the constraints of being at board level aren't they? Just to see them together fighting for the club again in any capacity would be very inspirational. Carey's got the hide to carry it off and Arch is, as we all know, just a fantastic bloke and a future off-field leader of our club.

If not this year, then why not next year under whoever coaches from 2008 on?

I think it is time for us to move on, on the Carey issue of 2002.

Lets leave that to the parties involved and concentrate on the issue now at hand and that is keeping the North Melbourne Football Club in Melbourne.

I believe that Carey may wield considerable influence, just as Arch and Stevo may be able to, if supporting the retention of the club in Melbourne.
