Can't see why he announced it before the season has even started. If he has a good season, then he could be tempted to go again in 2005. If he starts badly or has a poor run of injuries, then there could be pressure on him to retire early and give his spot to a rookie. I just feel that it would have been better for him and his club if he waited until sometime near the end of the season before making his intentions known.

Thank you Richmond for wanting Johnson more than a 10 year player in Wells, thankyou Adelaide for wanting to go the quick fix in Carey, and handing the Roos Wells through your deal with the Tigers. Thankyou one and all.

Only problem is that Wells has more life left in him than the Kangaroos Football Club.:D :D

The funny part is the Richmond Football club will be still starting their end of season trip in the first week of September, whilst Wells is still playing for the next 10 years.

And I know for a fact that Wayne Carey won't give a rat's arse whether you think his future retirement is great for all who don't like him.

Moron.
