I have NFI what's going on here but let's all agree that was the most exciting week one of finals in AFLW history.

I'm just against the "sore loser" part. There's also footage of them being upset after the game walking off. I don't think the label is fair given we don't know what caused it.

As someone who's thought that in general, Lions fans are better behaved than ours (on BF and social media), this last couple of weeks has been weird to see tbh. The McClelland being used as a motivator for players in one thing, whatever works, but bitterness shown from fans of a club that hold both premierships currently is just perplexing.

Returning to a thought I expressed after R1's ridiculous loss to West Coast, it looks like Ryan Ferguson has taken the Tigers as far as he can.

Enough of Mr. Nice Guy, now is the time to give Erin Phillips a call imo. Somebody Conti idolises and might actually listen to, and somebody who already has a record for driving standards at an otherwise also-ran.

Something needs to shift in the FDept at Richmond we didn’t get the same value in the concessions we had coming into the league as what the 22 inclusions received but the aversion we seem to have of running H/B’s and Wings had us found out.

We didn’t beat anyone who was in the 8 at the time we played them and haven’t really developed any new talent.
We need more talent if we’re going to compete with the better teams.
Maybe Phillips would attract potential signings

She was one of the 'women's coaching acceleration program' recipients (along with Pearce, Eva, Randall, etc.), but I have heard her say specifically head coach might not be her thing.

She'd be a vast improvement on the head of women's football too, though I'm not sure that's a "pack up and move the family interstate" sort of job.

AFL Integrity Unit investigating Lions vs Hawks melee

Brisbane has confirmed the AFL is investigating a number of incidents during the Lions' AFLW finals victory over Hawthorn on Sunday.

Hawks coach Daniel Webster suggested his players had reacted to being targeted by Lions players.

Did he?

He said he thought there wasn't much in the Dawes incident. Then he was asked this question, by Gemma Bastiani I think:

"...the melee, or close to a melee, after the final siren... there was a suggestion some comments were thrown Emily Bates' way. How did you see that?"

And he gave just about the most non-committal answer possible (started with "I'm not sure" and ended with "I don't know").
