Did you even watch the port adelaide game? Rd 19 2007. They got in front then just lay down. I think Fevola was moved out of the forward line at some stage when he got on a roll to get 'rested' Of course, these days when you beat port adelaide, it's all because you recruited duddles

I don't blame Carlton as such.

There will always be criminals seeking dishonest gain by the most dishonourable means.

I don't blame their supporters, in fact I feel sorry for people with such unbelievably low self esteem that they follow a side like this.

I blame the AFL for not deregistering this disgrace of an excuse for a 'club' by now.

Perhaps we should try and compliment and build the self opinion of poor Carlton supporters so that they have enough pride in themselves to not feel the need to support this criminal, tanking, theiving organisation.

After several years of being a passionate supporter of the AFL, I have found that there has always been one major underlying disturbance. That problem has been the carlton football club and its supporters. They have managed to somehow bring the moral and ethical standard of the league down. Recent examples of the moral standards of the football club clearly demonstrates the foundation upon which your club is based. The very fact that you had to cheat the salary cap shows no attempt to follow in the true spirit of the game and in doing so, being part of an honest and fair league. Furthermore the club has fallen to a new low and has created a terrible new term and culture that has been referred to as "tanking". Carlton has taken this newly invented term and created a monster. Despite denying that the club would ever perform such an "atrocity", the onfield performances speak for themselves. In doing so, carlton have systematically rorted and manipulated the system in whatever way they see fit. Carlton have ruined the beautiful game that we had known for ever. I question how Richard "DICK" Pratt manages to sleep at night.

Seriously, those of you who truly think Carlton purposely "tanked" need to have a good look at themselves. Consider the playing list Carlton had during the "dark" times when the team was cemented at the bottom of the ladder.... Is it not conceiveable that the team simply was not that good during that period?

I would suggest its a mixture of not being good enough and having no alternative but to "utilise" the draft system which rewards "mediocrity". It is worthwhile remembering that the AFL not Carlton devised this Draft system.

When Carlton was slaughtered by the AFL for "cheating" and effectively strangled out of the draft for such a long period of time, with an already ageing list, what did you really expect the outcome of that to be? Premiers? LOL! Use your brains and think about it.

The results of such a punishment were never going to be much better than what Carlton achieved.

Its also amusing to see the cheers of salary cap cheating aimed solely at Carlton when its quite obvious that other teams have done it.

So yes Carlton did breach the salary cap, were punished and performed as well as could be expected with the draft penalties imposed.

If anything this incident should have highlighted the need for a complete overhaul of the Draft system..... but sadly nothing of note has been forthcoming.

The AFL has ALOT to answer for in relation to the Draft system and with them conveniently handing the GC17 picks on a platter I can't really see it improving anytime soon.
