Carlton skipper 'meant no malice'

He has to get weeks, anything else would be a disgrace. Seems the afl and the media want him to be something he is not. He is a gun but he is a dog. He is a gutless dog too. Every time he has done something it's been when his teammates have someone pinned. What a weak $&@t. Shat himself when the boys went at him. He is a disgrace and now my no1 hated player. I hope we as fans give it to him every time he plays north, most of all though I hope the players don't let him forget this and smash him every time we play them.

How is Adams supposed to get a handball out with Carrazzo doing everything but throw a saddle on?

It's an absurd defence and I hope the tribunal give him an extra charge and suspension for bringing the game in to disrepute by lying to the tribunal.

Bulltish of the year award. What a crock. It's all legalese he's been instructed to sprout from his ugly mug. He knew exactly what he was doing and to whom. Nothing but a sniper a la Greg Williams. How those two a'holes won a Brownlow I'll never know.

Give me and a cricket bat five minutes alone and I'll show him what a brain freeze really is.

I just can't understand what was going through his head when he did it. In the spur of the moment. Judd has done some woeful things out on the footy field.

There is no getting out of this one. I don't believe he saw an opportunity to hurt Leigh Adams because of Patch's history of shoulder injuries. It wouldn't of mattered who the North player was, Judd would of done it anyway. Judd's a great player and hard at it. They say he's intelligent too. He pulled that arm back to the point of no return as Carazzo laid on Patch's back.

One of the strangest things I've seen on a footy field.

The Judd/Carlton defence strategy is citing the fact that he was aware on the spur of the moment that Patch was right handed so with that level of intelligent mindfulness, it's not completely out of the question that he was also aware of Patch's medical history.

It's quite simple. He's not the poster boy some would have you believe. Isn't this the same bloke who got done (or should've) for eye gouging?

People keep bringing up the eye gouging, which was bad, and also the "pressure points" excuse when he was caught repeat offending. But the elbow to Pavlich's cheek bone which was clearly intended to injure if not break a bone, was thrown out by the MRP/tribunal allowing him to win a Brownlow that year.

Yes Judd had a brilliant game but Scott allowed him to as he wasn't having an
Impact on the result. That's the difference between a pansy captain and a real captain like Carey.

I hope the weak turd gets 5 for the cowardly act.

This will test the AFL tribunal ticker, as T/Toes has indicated, after 2 Reco's, I yelled when it happened. If he didn't want Patch to get a hand ball away, just hold his hand.
I just hope Spitta is back from the Olympics as our Judo rep and it doesn't effect his footy. He picked Judd up like a kid and smashed him. That Swallow lad is all class, tough and showing why we all respect him as our leader.

Cheers All,

I actually really really like North Melbourne, and take great interest in your team. I watch you every week and sometimes attend games when Carlton aren't playing.

But seriously, be proud of your club. I read this board week in week out the same people sprout the same rubbish about the media disrespecting North and not spending enough time on talking about North etc etc etc.

This week, there was a big incident to come out of the game, Judd. Your board had 3 topics on it, the AFL board several also, of course the media are going to jump all over this story, yet you still complain that they are not focusing on your 53 point win. It was a 'dog' act and one that he obviously isn't proud of.

Way too sensitive about what the media says during the week, clubs win every week, it would be boring if all shows did was talk about how each team won. There are bigger events in the footy week then winning by 53 points against arguably an underdone, injury ravaged team, so no, the media won't continue to talk about the win, because that isn't the big story here.

Once again congratulations on the win, and I'll be attending more games this year and paying entry into the ground, so I do support your club so I think I am allowed to express my views on the topic

Look, I don't know why people keep bringing up that ridiculous eye gouging charge. Quick thinking Chris realised that Campbell Brown would be a more effective opponent if he could see out of both eyes so on the spur of the moment he did something about it. No harm intended.

Same with Leigh Adams. Even though he was lying flat on his face with Carazzo on top he might have shot out a handball. Chris was simply making sure that didn't happen.

Juddy should get the Keith Greig treatment - a clearance and an apology (and an extra 3 Brownlow votes).

Tellingly, blokes like Richo and Harley seem to have very little sympathy for Juddy. They seem pretty convinced of what he was trying to do.
Knowing Judd and the crap he used to write in his column, the (enviro)Mental Ambassador will argue it had something to do with global warming.

He should also get fined for talking about a report in the media.

Is it him or his people doing all the talking? You can bet your life Carlton will be orchestrating the whole defence, including the media campaign. The ''brain fade'', the remorse, the ''meant no harm'' crap, the media flogs talking up his greatness.

I tend to agree with jdemp a bit, a lot of people on this board complain about the media far too much. But really it's gonna be hard to see Judd not get suspended. Every player has a duty of care (as we all know with sling tackles) and considering Judd was the third person in to the contest, he will have to go. It doesn't matter weather your were trying to hurt the bloke or not, you've got a duty of care to not injure a player, and when you do something so specific as to grab his arm and pull it back and twist, ya gonna go regardless.

I don't know about you, but it was definitely an issue with several thousand North supporters who saw it live at the game before the media got involved.

Yeah i would say in a split instance of time a person shows their true colors. If a house is burning down and there are children in there, one persons instinct is to run in and help them regardless of their safety, the other stands back and gets a bucket of water and throws it at the house from a safe distance. Judd, in his split instances has demonstrated he is a dirty little prick and i hope the MRP can finally see through his golden child demenour and throw the book at him. But i thought the same for the first 10 times Adam Goodes did his dirty little acts that went unnoticed. I have a horrid feeling this is going to blow over coz he's a good bloke like Simon black - Apparently.

I'm not talking about just this instant, I mean in general. So much talk seems to be about how much everyone dislikes us. I can see how other people would come on to our board and think "gee these blokes are a pack of whining whingers".

Offsiders on ABC unanimously said it was appalling, the 7 commentary was a disgrace, it has no place in the game and (Whateley) said Judd should do the decent thing, plead guilty and accept what's coming.

Two defences Judd's peopple are running in the media - it was a brain fade, and that it was deliberate but reasonable to stop Adams handballing. The arguments are completely contradictory and hopefully neither carries any weight where it counts. Bruce and Dennis happily do not run the AFL's disciplinary system, neither do BF Carlton supporters, many of whom are being ludicrous in their defense of him.
