But I'd still rather finish say 6-11 than 3-14 meaning say pick 13 than pick 3.

This where we part ways, you accomplish nothing finishing 5 or 6 wins, all you do is stop yourself from getting better and become a cycle of mediocrity

Winning those last three games than losing them for example. I just think it's embarrassing to suck and always or often picking in the top 10 is more of an ownership/front office pattern. Eg, Jaguars the last 5 or so years or Browns the last umpteen years. You can still pick poorly or not develop your picks and keep remaining a rabble. Eg Raiders under Gruden/Mayock. Or Jaguars whiffing constantly.

Not all 5 or 6 win teams are the same however, take the Lions, if they built to 5 or 6 wins this year they are moving in the right direction, but the Panthers will have been spinning their tires for 4 or 5 years however, going nowhere, stuck on the cycle of doom.

I get your pov tho....Bengals Burrow, turnaround to SB. Or Lawrence and probably with Pederson a playoff team in 2022 or 2023. But there are many many examples of teams constantly picking early and still sucking and/or frittering away their draft choices.

Also just from a fan perspective. Dan Campbell and staff ...enough is enough we wanna be winners, kinda attitude

Sick of picking from 6 and 7. Do it properly you dumb campaigners.

Seahawks and Bears look to have the top two picks locked up at this early stage imo. The race is on for #3
Something I have to look forward too this coming season at last then. The end of it

Was thinking this might happen yesterday coz of Mims ties with Rhule....watch the Panthers be dumb enough to trade Marshall straight up for him.

The Athletic's Joe Person reports the Panthers "have called about Jets WR Denzel Mims."

Mims showed some promise as a rookie, going for 357 yards in nine games. In his second season, he was completely phased out of the offense. Mims totaled just 133 yards in 2021. If a trade isn't worked out, it's likely that the Jets simply cut him before Week 1. Mims posted a pair of 1,000-yard seasons under Panthers head coach Matt Rhule while both were at Baylor. Carolina is also dangerously thin at receiver behind D.J. Moore and Robbie Anderson. The familiarity makes Carolina an ideal landing spot for Mims, though he will remain off the fantasy radar no matter where he ends up.

A receiver up for trade, who isn’t linked to the Ravens….

He is all yours!

Conditional seventh rounder feels about right, maybe conditional sixth IF you are desperate.

I honestly wouldnt be surprised if Marshall is in the deal going back to the jets with us receiving a late pick and Mims.

Marshall seemed to be very salty when interviewed after practice the other day, he knows hes been overtaken by numerous receivers. Higgins, Shi Smith.

Typical LSU player imo, reckon he was spoiled and let to get away with things by coaches in college so has a woe is me salty attitude, not prepared to work hard for a role, expects to be given it over others coz hes a second round pick.

Man these Carolina announcers sound like they want to have Derrick Brown's babies.

Yeah need to calm down. Still cant stop the run. Hes only looks any good when hes allowed tp go after the QB.

Rhule saying Zane's groin pull is a "significant long term injury" ...how the **** you do that yourself as a kicker with warm up kicks? Talk about a glass man.

Man im salty about this, just when I thought we had finally found our kicker last year, we just gave him a 3 or 4 year deal too by memory. Back to trying out scrubs!

Darnold gone for numerous weeks also with a high ankle sprain, didnt sound anywhere near as bad as Gonzalez the way Rhule described each though.

I guess PJ Walker is staying after he was 100% gone before the Corral and Darnold injuries the past fortnight

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Sam Darnold is "expected to be out 4-6 weeks" after suffering a high-ankle sprain in Friday's preseason game against the Bills.

Rapoport notes that the Panthers will seek a second opinion to confirm the severity of Darnold's injury, but this feels like the best-case scenario for Darnold. With Darnold now sidelined for the foreseeable future, look for P.J. Walker to slot in as the backup behind Baker Mayfield to start the season.

Panthers head coach Matt Rhule said K Zane Gonzalez (groin) suffered a "significant" injury in Friday's preseason finale against the Bills.

Gonzalez reportedly injured himself while warming up on the sideline last night. Rhule and company will now be in search of a new kicker for the time being, as Gonzalez is reportedly set to see a specialist in the coming days. Last season, Gonzalez converted 20-of-22 field goals with a long of 57 yards. He also converted 22-of-23 extra points. The Panthers will likely host a handful of kickers in the coming days as they prepare for their Week 1 matchup against the Browns.

Id rather AC⚡DC's lead singer out of the two

Free agent K Eddy Pineiro is visiting the Panthers on Monday.

So is fellow kicker Brian Johnson. The Panthers are looking to replace Zane Gonzalez, who suffered a significant groin injury in the final week of the preseason and may wind up on IR. Both kickers have ties to Carolina's special teams coordinator, Chris Tabor.
