Also, I find this whole discussion baffling. Saying that we should drop the claim of "innocent until proven guilty" for any crime is outright ridiculous. I mean, Christ, this is the basis of our entire legal system! It's a human right that is rigidly enforced by all countries of the free world; to get rid of it all based on a single statistic is so utterly stupid that it can't be properly put into words.

An "orgy" is very commonly seen as involving a lot more than three people. Saying "gang bang" implies there were more people there than those known to have been involved.
I'd actually tap Caro given the chance. A mention of our Premiership during the vinegar stroke would be in order though.

If a newspaper printed this, they would be faced with immediate serious legal action on several fronts (e.g. being prejudical to any future possible court case) - as well as an excellent future prospect of being sued for a lot (and in theory at least, if not seemingly in actual practice - so far, the exact same laws apply to internet forums).
Mods - I don't envy the mostly good jobs you do here, but this sort of troll post simply must not be tolerated in any way.

the case will revolve around the collection of evidence and the formalities of the legal process, not whether or not something illegal happened...
thats all ive been saying all along... it doesnt matter whether or not he r*ped her, all that matters is if the police can prove he did so...

Not as often as guilty people getting off but we live in a society that would prefer to have 100 guilty people acquitted than send 1 innocent person to Jail! And I'm glad we do! As bad as injustice for a crime is, it does not compare to having an innocent person convicted of a crime they did not commit!

I think Soho didnt explain his point of view as clearly as they could have but your reaction is equally divisive.
If we took the Collingwood players out of the equation for a minute as that has inflammed a lot of views.
Rape is an under reported crime and even when reported convictions are difficult to obtain. Our legal system is not suited to looking after rape victims. Its a harrowing experience and many victims come out wishing they had never reported the crime. On the flip side there are false reports made but this is much less common
I wouldn't comment on this case but the truth of the crime of rape is most perpetrators get off the charges even if they are guilty. Thats a given in any system where the burden of proof is "beyond reasonable doubt".
In rape this is very difficult to prove more so than most other crimes

There have been NO charges laid, therefore there are no perps and reasonable doubt doesn't enter the equation.
Her claims of poor justice may well have a foundation but that doesn't give her the right or anyone else the right to maliciously - YES MALICIOUSLY make unfounded criminal accusations against a yet to be charged individual.
What part of 'no charges laid' don't you understand?
Rape is a terrible crime and needs to be punished as harshly as possible but maliciously accusing anyone is just as bad.
