I really liked what I saw in his one game against Essendon in that Covid affected game; shame about his injury in 23 and would’ve been stiff to be delisted so wrapped that he gets another go and even better that he’s an Academy boy.

Michael, drafted to the Lions from Maroochydore as an Academy pre-selection in the 2020 NAB AFL Rookie Draft, departs the Club after one senior game across four seasons.

Struggling with injury for much of the last two season, Michael’s debut game for the Lions came against Essendon in Round 17, 2022.

A sad end to a career that could have had some genuine promise except for injuries. He at least got the opportunity to play at AFL level and has a goal (and a pretty good one) to his name. Hopefully not lost entirely to footy.
