Lausanne, 22 December 2015 – Following a consultation with all parties concerned, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has confirmed that it will not issue its decision in the arbitration procedure between the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and 34 current and former players of Essendon FC before the week commencing 11 January 2016.

The procedure concerns an appeal filed at the CAS by WADA against a decision issued by the Australian Football League (AFL) Anti-Doping Tribunal dated 31 March 2015 in which 34 current and former players of Essendon FC were found not to have committed an anti-doping rule violation. In its appeal to the CAS, WADA requests that the challenged decision be annulled and replaced with a new decision in which the players are found to have committed an anti-doping rule violation and sanctioned accordingly.

The Australian Football League (AFL) and the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) are interested parties in the proceedings.

The CAS Panel in charge of this matter held a hearing in Sydney, Australia from 16 to 20 November 2015 and has since been deliberating and preparing an Arbitral Award which contains its decision.

The Arbitral Award is currently being finalised and is likely to be notified to the parties during the week commencing 11 January 2016
. The exact date of notification will be announced in due course. The Arbitral Award will be issued to the parties and a media release will be published on the CAS website

Mods feel free to move this to Percel super thread once word gets out. Thought this was big enough news to warrant a clear thread title to make it easy for ppl.

This will only get lost in the other thread. Definitely worthy. So 11-15th Jan huh?

Not long to go now until things reach a new level of explosive yield.
Getting this case across the line will be difficult.
But putting the management of the efc firmly in the mud will not be so.
Expect the new board of efc to present a "were clean not us" line for eternity.
Cant wait for the multitude of posters saying "im happy the players got off"
And the efc supporters posting "we were always against the club management during the programs time.

Anyone else find this to be an amusing understatement?

"The Australian Football League (AFL) and the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) are interested parties in the proceedings."

There have been very few under statements in the last 3 years - this was absolute gold.

Sure made me laugh!!!!

Nice to see that both of you can put your differences aside during this festive season.

A few others on this Board could heed your good intentions.

But on Jan 1st, back to open slather.

Merry Christmas everyone, eat lots, drink lots, and love everyone equally.

Shouldn't Essendon, public and players be a bit happy if CAS is 'comfortably satisfied'?

That means, the players can be 'comfortably satisfied' with TB4 was injected into their bodies, therefor they know. Right now they have no idea? Should be a relief if anything

Eager beavers, premature congratulations. More deep breathing, and the kegel squeeze.

That is no guarantee Tb4 was used though - I'll accept it was used if CAS form that view.
