There only needs to be a possibility that the coach gave it to a player for there to be a charge, doesn't there?
No need for any evidence either. Just a made up story that might be possible is enough.

Outside of a charge - surely if ASADA are presenting this to the AFL tribunal, they believe it is true - hence they are statutorily obliged to investigate the club(s) in question?

Hey Darren Lehman has been sourcing HGH for 6 months from Dank - no need to investigate the cricket team at all! Move along!

Interesting to observe moral beacon Carlton supporters pontificating about the steps they'd like to see taken of anyone at the club is found to be tied up in this.
Very, very easy to play the upstanding citizen card with the benefit of two years' experience of this circus.

I remember saying the same thing (about some chest-beating Saints supporters) when we were six months in. Sigh.

People in that Francis thread are STILL using the Ziggy report for evidence of scandal :drunk: what a mind numbing experience the HTB is.

You were correct. On the bomberblitz I said I emailed the owner. The owner actually phoned me. It was an intricate conversation and I still believe the owner doesn't know I had a copy of a copy of a copy of her report. This is such an honourable site and I can't imagine you would want a liar on it so I shall take my leave. And Martin Hardie or his disciple can denigrate me as much as they like.

Interesting from Bruce. Wonder if "her" is she who cannot recall?

Why the f#@k is the charge against Dank being heard at the same time as the charges against the players?
That would only make sense if all the evidence relating to all the charges arose from the same events, and so the evidence only needed to be presented once.
Not the case.
If Dank is charged with trafficking and supplying to coaches, and also charged with providing Hexarelin to Essendon, that is completely separate to the charges against the players, and it is only muddying the waters and delaying the proceedings to hear them in the same proceedings.
If it is ASADA's decision to do it together, then you have to suspect the motives. Trying to tar the players with the same brush. Trying to hint to the tribunal that if Dank was doing bad things, then it is easier for them to believe the players are guilty too.

Agree completely. It's mind boggling to say the least.

Don't think it benefits us one bit at all.

Its irresponsible from the tribunal to let this happen and hear any Dank evidence if he is not there. If he's not there then ASADA should present nothing on his part and they should just sanction him.

Can't believe we are allowing this to happen.

Bruce has definitely got the htb in a spin. More then a few heads buried in the sand over there. Well done Bruce, but I hope you now realise some people are not really worth it.

Surely ASADA don't get to set the parameters of how the tribunal operates, so if the tribunal is allowing unrelated matters to be heard at the same time as the EFC case, it must be with the consent / support of the AFL.

Players taking hexarellin. Think its a strategy to ensure that Dank is banned. AFL/ASADA know that Dank won't attend the hearing to contest the charges, so they can throw anything into the mix, to make sure Dank can be suspended. After all its no certainty that giving HEX to support staff would attract a ban.

It's merely a strategic decision to ensure Dank is suspended.

that's a unique combination of supplements to be provided over a period that parallels the afl season just for a coach.

shouldn't be a problem for carlton to provide proof that no players received any of the supplements.

Yes- I think that it's time that ALL clubs should prove that they didn't take banned drugs. No wishy stuff about taking legal drugs, I think it's time they put up some hard evidence that they haven't been taking anything banned.

And the whole investigation will be hailed a resounding success

Oh dear...I've been staying away from this roller coaster for a little while and I come back to find senior Carlton foam royalty acting like vampires sunbaking...

Thrawny and Co's heads may just explode...

Not an Essendon fan, although i reckon you guys know me, but just had to post and laugh at the term Foam royalty :D

ASADA name Carlton and Gold Coast...strategy to solidify their existence when they're about to be thrown out? We might become less important?

Surely you must be an Essendon fan in disguise? After all you're not carrying a pitch fork crying for people to please think of the children. :p

I have seen Michael Prior at both my sons football and cricket ( his son plays same age group, different club) that is about as Essendon as i have ever been.

Odd. Why would ASADA bring that stuff up now? Was it part of the evidence they re bringing to the case? And why charge Dank with giving Hexarelin to players if they aren't going to charge the players for taking it? It really sounds like they are running a PR campaign as well as an anti doping case. I guess they've worked out that Sloppy Joe is wielding the axe and they don't want to be part of the next round of cuts.
