In my 12 or so years, I've never, yes, never seen a finals win. Never seen us win a premiership. Never seen us even remotely challenging. Most successful season for me was the one where we got kicked out of finals (says a lot). Success and Essendon have always been a historical connection for me.

I'll still watch though. We have a great group of youth coming through. Out of the 12, Heppell is the only one likely to be present in our next premiership push.

Mate, my simple advice is this:

Focus on other things for a while.

I know that's incredibly hard because this happened so recently. It's raw for all of us, me included. It's very hard to see our club reduced to current state of rubble (and rabble) that it resembles, I get that and I know you take the highs and lows of being a supporter very hard. We all ride the highs and lows, but I reckon you ride them more severely than most of us.

It's a nightmarish scenario and it's difficult to understand and comprehend how we are here and what's happened, or where we go from here. But you're not doing yourself any favours continuing to attempt to absorb and post about every little angle of this whole mess- that much is clear to me and I reckon you know yourself how upsetting you're finding it all.

I'm not saying don't post on this board at all; you're a fan like the rest of us and like the rest of us you want to see the club do well and get back on its feet. But I think you'd serve yourself best by just ignoring this thread and topic for a while. We've got top up players to discuss, we've got players who aren't suspended to discuss, hell, we've got almost 150 years of club history to discuss if you want. Just immerse yourself into that for a while and try your best to not obsess about this mess. I know it's not easy, but I think you've got to try. It's not good for you to keep doing this to yourself, mate.

I feel your pain, but I think you've just got to help yourself a bit here. We're all in this as fans together.

matey i can see you in a few months time, after our first shock win of the season, dishing it out to the opposition. How good is that gonna be??
