CBS has swung the axe -
gone are
The Ghost Whisperer
Numb3rs
Cold Case
Gary Unmarried
Rules of Engagement
New Adventures of Old Christine
Accidentally on Purpose

Some good shows among them.

Numb3rs I would watch occasionally, I guess there is a limit to the number of crimes that can be solved by maths though.

All the rest I never seen, glad ghost whisperer is gone though it looked like such crap.

Rules of Engagement

That's been renewed not axed

No suprise Cold Case got axed.It was either CC or Without A Trace that was getting boned last year and WAT lost,so you knew the other would only last another season. What didn't help CC was that they can't release the series on DVD.

Surprised about Cold Case, Numb3rs and Rules of Engagement. Wasn't much of a fan of any of the axed shows, but if Rules was on I'd happily watch it for a few cheap laughs.
Knew that Garry Unmarried show was heading straight to the gurgler.

All of those shows sucked bawlls. Cold Case is the biggest pile of steaming shit ever. Every show is the same: Old murder case. Flash backs. Big group of suspects. More flashbacks that eliminate suspects one by one until the murderer is left. Bryan Adams would struggle to write better formulas. Lamest show ever.

As for House? The sole attraction to the show is House being an arrogant person. Endearing at first but was never going to last.

Can't believe Two and a Half F***wits got extended.

So many good shows around, not many make it to our TV screens.

NBC axed Heroes as well without giving it a proper ending... Booooo!!!!
I'm predicting that this is a ploy to create interest towards a tv movie or mini-series to tie up loose ends.
I never saw a second of Heroes but the ****ers did the same thing with My Name is Earl so i feel your pain.
My Name Is Earl was a great show and deserved a final season to tie everything up. I want to know who Dodge's real dad is dammit!

House is made by Fox, hasn't been canceled, and is one of the best dramas on tv currently.

Heroes on the other hand is the a vastly overrated piece of crap... very surprised it lasted as long as it did.

Heroes completely sucked after the first season.

The problem with Heroes was they just pressed reset at the end of each volume and the characters rarely developed (aside from occasionally flipping between being a 'good guy' and a 'bad guy').

Hiro is the most frustrating example. There was a flashforward to the future (which they averted) in volume one where he was all dark and serious and actually interesting. What happened to him? He just stayed a bumbling idiot for the next 50 episodes with a vague notion of "I want to be a hero" but never actually developing or being more than a bumbling idiot. Maybe he stayed that way because he was the breakout character but regardless it was shit.

Other characters were like that too: just far more interesting as their 'future versions' than their 'present versions'.

Some main characters were just let go and never even mentioned again. Then in volume three they killed off the most interesting new character (Arthur)!

If Heroes as a series had an overarching plot that lasted the whole series and actually properly linked each volume/season together, rather than just resetting everything at the end of each one, it would have been pretty good. Instead it was pretty pointless and I gave up a few episodes into volume four (in hindsight I'm not sure why I lasted that long, but I think being unemployed with nothing to do played a fair part).

Sorry to rant about an NBC show in a CBS thread :p
